02 have to approve the firmware first, so this will add to the delay. |

Me and my girl both have the echo problems, we thought it was Orange, our service provider but it could well be the handset. Volume up or down it echoes... bit difficult to have the volume on anything but max with how quiet it is.
I always use my jawbone and still get this echo.
UPDATES not available for me yet either, UK Orange branded X10i. |

i believe this update is the battery update thats supposed to make the battery last twice as long, but dont quote me on that. im saying this cause sony has said that was the next update coming up. but you will ONLY be able to get this update if youre debranded. if your not you gotta wait for your carrier to release the update, if they release it. |

Oniiko @ Orange have to approve the firmware for it to be released, same as most network providers.
SKIBBE@ I am the same, I have checked as well by SUES.
The update will be released to the generic handsets first and then its down to the network provider to approve the update and sent it out.

Yea. It's strange. I haven't had problems when I use my MW600 though. There's gotta be something goin on with the handset itself that causes it to echo like that sometimes and not others. Hopefully it's just a software issue that can be resolved with an update. That's if SE is even aware of the problem. for now I guess i'll just deal with it.
As far as firmware update, I checked using the phone's update service. Would it be any different if i actually used the windows based update service? I'm still using the original release firmware... haven't even gone to 16 yet. hopefully I can get the updates. Doesn't seem like SE is taking care of its north american customers as quickly as the rest of the world. X10a needs love too!!
