Isn't it time to ditch the x64? I've tried it and it sux. Anyway, use vmware server, a free software making a virtual computer on your computer. Install a x86 xp on it, map the usb port to the virtual computer and flash. Not sure I would dare, but there is a chance it will work. |

You really have to push quite hard!!
don't worry, the battery cover is quite flexible and shouldn't break so easily. Just push down firmly on the top of the battery cover near the camera lens! |

There is definitely a knack to getting of the battery cover. First time I found it almost impossible now I can do it very quickly.
You need a fair amount of force, but the reason it is so stiff is simply because of that little rubber sticker SE has put there (due to the thinner BST-33) causing friction against the battery. The problem is in trying to push the battery cover off you invariably end up pushing down on it in the middle too therefore making that rubber sticker stick harder to the battery.
What I tend to do is to just move the battery cover down far enough so that I can get a fingernail or similar (maybe the edge of a credit card would work too) between the top of the battery cover and the phone casing on one side. You can then really easily just push it off from there - it literally just pops off from that point as very little force is needed.

i feel like the easiest way to do it is with the end of your palm. Just push down and slide it open with a little force. |

Hi Zackc,
You need to see if anyone here can actually update their firmware on a Voda branded handset and if they can you will need a SE service centre as i doubt a Voda shop will be able to do it but i may be wrong.

Can't update the vodafone ones at the moment. Latest firmware isn't released. I'm actually afraid that the later firmwares they release for the voda's will actually be branded versions..
I'm going to have to change the cda number on mine/debrand. |

Bum
Well am ok with it as it is.
Would like to be able to listen to mp3's and use web browser, without it crashing on me though.
Yeah major bummer x64 windows, but aside from the lack of support software wise. I find it much faster than x86. No other windows will take advantage of the ram i have installed.
Have my eye on the new ultra portable vaio to buy next month. So won't have to wait for updates 2 long.
I wonder if my web and walk t-mobile sim will work in my voda p990?
Maybe after a little nap. |

I stuck my w&w chip in and got the settings sent from the SE website and the net works fine. |
