That's too much of a work. Agreed, there should be some kind of online updates through GPRS.

No thanks, no online updates over GPRS or Internet >> SE is still having way to many issues with firmware updates than I'd like to participate in. Some users EVEN with the same firmware, locked/unlocked being the same, with/out memory installed being the same still cannot get the same results. I'm thinking branding is to blame. No thanks on online do it yourself updating. If the manufacturer does it and screws up they must fix it; if you do well it may void warranty. This is Nokia we're talking about not SE. |

@trilokeshh, your 6600 is already a smartphone. you just need series60 apps, take a look on the first page of this thread and see some free suggestions.
@BlueQuill, I have no idea. personally my new job takes a lot of my time; adjustment period. Some others are in school or in the same vote, or reading up on the SE/Nokia/Apple news this past week and trying to decide witch their gonna spend their money on for Xmas. lol.
Personally I'm getting bored of my 6620, and taking off unlimited data due to some changes to my network not allowing me to fully use EDGE towers/speeds any longer. So taking off data for 2 months is going to render my 6620 as a big dumb phone. I'm going to replace it with either a Z500a temporarily or just goto the K750i; until the P990i comes out. Neither of the E series suits my needs, but the N70 looks sweet. I was hoping the rumored Ngage QD replacement would be announced with stereo speakers & stereo headset 3.5mm port out! But it seems its only a hopeful rumor.
huhhh. I want a P990i already in black!
I think SE is onto something beautiful with the K750i/W800/W900Sakura walkman phones. You can still enjoy voice calls/sms/mms, bluetooth on them but also enjoy music; replacing the need for a dedicated MP3 player. Would be nice if they further improve their contract with Apple just to support the Fairplay music of iTunes Music Store downloaded content. |

I guess nobody is using Series60 anymore. I think we're liquidating our personal holdings just to upgrade to the new N-series 80 or N92 just announced for next year??
I'm on the fence on the P990i and the N80 >both are great on paper but real world usuage for a week will be the teltale sale!
Either way I'll still own the W900i & the wife will have the K750i. But I gotta figure it out soon because Im also buying a PowerMac G5 for xMas!!! |

I haven't heard about the N71, personally I'm excited for the N91. Sure to be much cheaper after signing on a serv plan!
The fact that the N91 has wifi seals the deal for me. The music portion is just the icing on the cake. |

@Frankie, well you'll be needing to do the full reset/hardreset to return to factory settings - a good test to see if its fully unlocked.
Dial *#0000# to check your FW version.
>>Normal Reset *#7780# : Restores ini files from rom but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)
>>Deep Reset *#7370# : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.
No as for critical apps; only you know which are critical to you ..... what are the benefits of the apps you have on your P900?!
