It's not a biggie but sometimes I see something that I'd like to download. Saw this morning MTN advertising the same two Blackberry models Vodacom have introduced but not saying when these devices will be available...not that I want one.

MTN advertised the 7290 and another model. The 7100v is for Vodafone only.Vodacom has the 7100v and 7290.The 7100 look like a normal cellphone.

One more thing is that i do get to loose out on a lot of fun coz the providers here do not have wap access, so em a bit left out on a lot of things like downloads, games especially
Em using a SE T610 (nice piece), used to own a T28s, then T105 and then T610

BTW, welcome to the newest poster on our thread...all the way from Botswana...can't believe they don't have data services...Orange must be making a killing.
@mario: No news about EDGE. Something I've picked up on the weekend...I'm a journalist afterall was that Icasa are planning to ban premium services that are accesible to children. Orange did a similiar move last month whereby subscribers have to register their details( credit card, adress and ID) to be able to receive adult content on their cellphone.
What does this mean? Networks will in future be able to block access to adult content...using similiar methods to that employed by Mweb to protect the kids.
The mother grundies have had their day...no more porn for you little Johnny.

I want MTN to launch EDGE now because when they launch it,it will be available where ever MTN has signal. Then the pressure will be on Vodacom to roll out MORE 3G nodes ASAP.MTN has EDGE IN CERTAIN AREAS FOR NOW.MTN is the 1st in the world to have an EDGE notification. When you are in an EDGE coverage area, your phone will notify you.Maybe MTN will launch EDGE when they launch 3G.I will try and find out when MTN will have EDGE by tomorrow.Last i heard EDGE will be available on 1st Feb 05 and now its March. So watch this space

From the 1st of March 05 all cellular networks in SA will no longer greylist phones but will blacklist them and you don't need a case number to blacklist. All blacklisted phones will be destroyed when recoverd by SAP.If you find your phone then only you need a case number to clear the listing. To blacklist your phone all you need to know is:What phone you had and model,IMEI no,where your phone was lost/stolen and the phone number you used last and your personal details like ID no,name and surname, fixed address and contact number. This is for both prepaid and contract across all networks.

That's bloody good news especially for those people who always have their phones stolen/lost. Never had a phone stolen though but would hate to lose my precious to the criminal element.

Just to add on to my last post. All stolen or lost phones that where reported before will be blacklisted. The cell networks with the SAPS are working together......Another nice thing with 3G handsets,if someone steals your 3G phone borrow another 3G phone and phone your 3G phone when the BASTARD answer your 3G phone change the profile from video calls to still photo on your 3G phone you borrowed.Take the still photo to the SAPS and hopefully they will nab the bastard or you can publish the photo.

Another Nokia explodes.Nokia Thailand is getting Sued.50 year old man was working on a high voltage pole when this happen. This man lost his right leg and 5 of his toes will be amputaited on his left leg. This was reported in todays news papers.Nokia always blame fake batteries. There were few cases in SA last year and only 1 was where a generic batt was used. I never heard of other brands exploding.Did you.

Couldn't bother with a Nokia would hate to lose my limbs. I think it serves them right to be sued...they would ensure their phones aren't weapons of mass destruction.

Hello. You chaps why on earth aren't you using a instant messaging program on your cell? With the fairly cheap vodacom gprs charges is really a los not to use it! Imagine the connectivity of one or more IM-program combined with the mobility of a cellphone ! ! ! You have always your buddies in your poked !My telephone bill is almost half of what it used to be.And the price stays the same no matter to whom on earth you chat exchange pictures, instant voice messages, short video clips, etc. The other day my 3year old developed some nasty red spots allover her body.I had on idea what it was,but after a chat with a american buddy (dr) he asked me for a few pictures.A few minutes later a diagnose came.Spot on as confirmed a day later by a local GP.So let's exchange our IM Names.Anyone is welcome althou I prefer one or 2 lawyer and media reporters. Greetings from Jeffreys.Mario :-)
