And Apple has never copied anyone??
Oh man here we go again - copied as in GUI?!! Sorry bud but Apple had rights to learn, change/modify & implement that technology from Xerox PARC right from the beginning. They were stupid not to patent their version before and let the keys to the house wide open for Windows to be born without an iron clad contract. More to the int another company invented the true GUI years before Xerox. Ask and I'll provide a link for an in depth video to prove it.

So what about the pull down notification shade that Android introduced ? Apple, along with other makers like Nokia have done on Symbian Belle have done the same. Even the iPad has it. Thats the one most obvious Apple ripp off that comes to mind.
So yeah, Apple do copy other manufacturers. Oh and then they claim they invented the concept and try to patent it.
Hopefully that patent will be granted and Android can sue the arse of Apple !
I really dont understand why, especially with people like you Prom1 who've been around on Esato for many years so are obviously a technology fan / geek, yet you defend a company that are trying to ruin the industry of which we're all fans of. How can you sit back and just allow them to attempt to put everyone else out of business through such disgusting business strategies ??? how can you be so utterly brainwashed !?

Now etaab you hit the nail right on the head there. That pull down notification bar is a major rip off that Apple and yes even Nokia copied from Android. I was gob smacked with the Apple slide to unlock claim. Samsung had slide to unlock on their earlier touch screen dumb phones before Apple did. What next?? Apple invented auto focus??

I guess patents are more complicated than we lay people realize.
That aside, some of the claims baffle the mind! Like the "Slide to Unlock" feature that Apple was suing HTC over? Neonode apparently had this as far back as 2002, way before Apple did. It was filed under US Pat. No. 8,095,879,

I just cannot understand why people can be so stupidly biased towards to such companies as Apple.
I love all devices. I stuck with Symbian as many people here will know for many years right up until the release of the SGS3. Android has been around for only a few short years so my late adoption of it shows im no fanboy.
I love the iPhone, i think its a fantastic product, the iPad is the best tablet out there, better than any Android pad imo.
I love the devices, not the stupid politics and legalities behind the companies that make them. My utter distaste of Apple is only because of how they've acted in the industry. They're wanting to stifle, constrict and shrink the market around them and freeze out every other competitor. They want a future where everyone uses iPhones. They've even coined the name with the 'i' prefix to make people assume their products are more than anyone else.
Everything about Apple stinks of pure greed.
As a technology fan, i like all phones, all devices, but i wouldnt defend the company who makes my handset if they were up to the scams Apple are up to. Its a shame Apple never did make a more perfect phone that appealed to me more than Android or Symbian, because then i could own their devices and love them but still slag off the company for being such greedy ***** that they are without appearing biased.
Oh and btw, the SGS3 pisses all over Apple in every department imo.

I doubt it will kick Samsung plastic arse. And the GS3 is solidly made of polycarbonate. Their phones made of plastic are well built and don't smash easy unlike glass covered iPhones. Plastic does not mean poor as my Sony is made out of plastic and is rock solid. Why do people think plastic means crap?? Plastic is more durable than most glass. As for blowing people's fuses my fuse is fine I just can't stand Apple. Enough said

Peeps, just enjoy your own phone and allow others to enjoy theirs, and please go back to topic now.
People reading this thread, because they might want a Galaxy SIII, are not interested in opinions about Apple, nor in professional reviews (which they've already been reading ), but in hands-on experiences of real-life owners. Thoughts of people having a device in daily use for a few months are valuable to possible new owners, more than those of a reviewer, which might have been using it for only a week or so . |

I think it was Bonovox who first mentioned that the SGS3 screen is dim. Well according to reports of tests done that maybe true.

This is what i have BEEEEEN saying, id rather have a plastic phone that is lite and durable, than something that is heavy and made of glass that shatters easily.
My Xperia X10 has had some incredible falls, latest being last night, dropped it on tiles face 1st in the family room, and it slid and hit the metal rim around the sliding door, still in great condition, if it was an iPhone it would be in pieces. My GS2 has also been a soldier.
Plastic is highly underrated when done right, by the way polycarbonate is a form of plastic.

Thats another highly underrated thing, Sony's Mineral Glass displays.
If its one thing that irritates me its people bitching and moaning about no Gorilla Glass in every Sony phone annoucement, yet they havent a clue of how durable it is how long Sony has been using it, i remember the K850 had it, and to this day my 5yrld K850's display is in great condition.
The red GS3 looks interesting, not sure if i like it or not, from some angles it looks stunning and from others its meh.
