@Toney_Ericsson (or should I say Toney_HTC, thanks Sean!), yeah, that's shit! but hey, maybe the photographer didn't take the picture well. and yes, there's room for improvement. after all, it has not yet released.
A couple of words from the photographer: this picture was taken at 7.30am in the beginning of January in Zurich (what I want to say: it was night still!) There was close to zero natural light. Considering this (plus the fact that I took this picture one-handed ) I think arc does not too bad... The pre-release version of arc, as already mentioned before.

C'MON, does anybody really believe that SE will manufacture anything close to N8 in photo quality? Not in 2011. Exmor-R means nothing, if you keep reducing sensor size to ridicuosly small levels. Ans Sony does just that. Their 16.4mp has got even smaller cells than 8mp. 16.4mp photos in future cam. flagship will be ok only in good light conditions and for strobe shots with iso up to 200.
But the Arc DOES have a backlit sensor? It's also 8.1 mpx and not 16?? And Canon's new HD range of camera's top out at 10mpx yet they will easily totally destroy the N8 on image quality. What's your point? Mpx mean nothing now.
So the Arc has a backlit sensor with big cells and good processing, my iPhone 4 also has a backlit sensor and it takes crap photos in low light, really really really poor.
As for the video example, well when I can see it in it's raw format on a TV etc then I shall believe it, not when it's of You Tube with it's famous image compression and quality destruction codecs........

Sorry if I had offended you in any way. Anyhow, I'm totally agree on what you stated.
I'm just hoping that the f/2.4 helps the arc for taking at least good night shots.

ISO 1250!!! without flash. I think it is very good resault. Look at other photos good color, good details. |

Those photos are much better colour wise. Arc's sensor is definitely sharper (slightly nosier as well - but that might be tweaked on the final release).
Not too much different from the X10, but I think the edges of on the Arc are more in focus than the X10 so on that basis the Arc's camera based on those photos is marginally better than the X10. |

Now this is brilliant! Just as expected from a good phone, shutter speed value 1/40! It's what pisses me in X10, it automaticly goes to 100/200 ISO at the cost of shutter speed going at about 1/10, my hand ain't that steady, so all the indoor shots go out wrong... Only sport mode helps, but then it's too much noise/shutter speed.
This picutre is super steady, sharp, and ISO ain't that bad. |

I would be surprised if the Arc`s camera is not noticeably better than the x10`s But just as important imo is that they have made the camera quicker. I also fancy the new ui and the various flash settings |

Yes anything is surely better than the stupid flash setting on x10. Don't think they thought that through right.

YES! What's more sad, is that they can fix this, by 30 minutes of coding, and releasing the damn update! I'm afraid the same bullshit is gonna happen with arc, that some stupid shit is made by SE, and they won't fix it... |

No in the Arc the flash is directly in the main camera menu unlike where is was in the x10 under sub menus which made it not very easy to turn on and off.

Having previously had the Desire HD I can honestly say the camera was awful. It has blurry out of focus shots. I still though prefer my new White X10 over the Arc design wise and also in terms of how too thin and light the Arc is. One thing I have read up on in terms of Exmor sensor is in alot of expert digital camera reviews I have read them stating that Exmor sensor has worsoned the image noise in low light. This is a common problem with back lit sensors. Apparently. @toneyericsson you have not changed your username yet to ToneyHTC
You obviously never tried putting it in focus in that very short period of time having the DHD of then running back to crappy se. Why the X10 now? it's done and dusted, stupid decision.
I take awesome photos on the Desire HD and in low light, the whole area is lit up with the dual LED flashes.
I wouldn't call that a flash in the X10 thats just a photo light and I have taken better photos with a K810.
I've had Sony Cybershots for years and also have Exmor-R cameras, theres nothing good about the Exmor-R sensor compared to something like Cannons Powershot range which I also have.
As for changing my name I don't need to change my name just to state facts on this se fanboy site.

We got you the first 50 times. Could you STFU about the goddamn Desire HD and WAIT until this phone is out to judge camera performance and all that? |
