Is there any specific reason why you have to have a nordic version on your phone. I used a hong kong firmware for a while with no problems...........Just curious.

Of course, You can use what ever firmware you want,
but the phone doesn't let you upload to version which you specifically want.
SEUS read your phone IMEI and Firmware version, and "judge" by that informations
which version do You need to upload.
It's a little annoying, I must admit.... And I don't know how to TRICK SEUS
to let you upload UK or Chinese Version.
I beleive, that You must completely deleted your hole firmware, and rewrite that one you specifically want.
Someone could correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Thats the reason i use wotanserver or daVinci because you CAN put whatever you want on your phone. But I agree with you that you should be able to do that through SEUS. Not sure why SE restrict us like that but I'm sure they have there reasons. |

It's actually pretty easy. You need three things:
1. A2 Uploader
2. A2 Uploader CDA Generator
3. SEUS
Okay, once you've got these three things you need to generate a CDA for your C905. You do this by going into the CDA file generator and selecting the C905, then typing in the CDA you want to use. You can find lots of CDAs in this thread that will work better. "Generic UK" is probably your best bet at the moment.
So, once you've generated the file, it's going to be saved in the folder you have the CDA Generator program saved in. The file will be called "customized_upgrade.xml". The next step is that you want to actually change the CDA on the phone. To do this, we need to open up A2 Uploader. Once open, click on FILE SYSTEM at the right side. The program will now ask you to connect your phone in the same way SEUS asks; turned off, hold down 'c' and insert the USB. The file system will now load up.
In the A2 Uploader window navigate to "tpa/preset/custom", and then drag and drop the "customized_upgrade.xml" file across to this window. Once you see the file saved in this window, then you can go to SHUTDOWN FILE SYSTEM at the bottom in red. You can then disconnect your phone.
Turn the phone on, and wait for the "please wait" message to fire across. Once completed the CDA is now changed and you can disconnect the phone.
Now connect to SEUS and update as normal. Note that beside C905 at the top it should say the new CDA. Do an update and you will have all the features/(lack of) branding that the firmware you have chosen has.
This isn't really too complicated, having done it a few times I can fire through the process in under 5 minutes. There isn't any risk to your phone either, as if it messes up, you can simply do it again.
Hope this helps anyone confused,
Ryan

Why??? If you look at his Location and mine, probably you see why we use NORDIC region.
I've heard that it's not recommended to flash the phone if European to Hong Kong etc.. In case of something goes wrong, you loose your warranty..
Peoples in service center will wonder why this phone has HONG KONG version instead of EUROPEAN.. And by the way... WHY have this SMS thingy been so popular??
At least 50% of you NEVER use, or going to use it.. |

The sms chat view isn't all that great. When you get upto 150 messages in a conversation it takes longer to load it up on the screen. I've filled my conversation to 176 messages and it's slow now, not painfully, but noticably.
An instruction on how to change the CDA would be great. Or at least a pointer to where I can find some good instructions.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

@fullforce-i'm on unbranded uk and have chat sms.
you aren't missing that much,as has been mentioned, its slow to open up and mines completely freezes the phone if you recieve a text when you have chat sms open.
i then have to take the battery out to solve. |

I actually really like it. If I could change the theme of it I could see myself using it all the time. Quite often I have an "IM-like" chat via SMS anyway, so this is really handy for me to have a full on quick discussion. Conversation mode is probably my favourite feature of the C905 now, especially after coming from an iPhone.

Can somebody confirm if sms chat and snapfish is not included in APAC_ANZ china_so?
oh, and by the way, the number 6 in my keypad is already not giving any good feedback when pressed.
Hmmm.. fishy.. the keypad of my k850i also gone nuts after a month of normal usage... But I do have small fingers...

Hi Mate, thanks for the guide. If I want to change from Vodafone UK 1215 - 6920 to 3 UK 1212 - 6920 do I select western europe (I am in England) and then key in 1212 - 9623 to the CDA boxes in the A2 Uploader CDA Generator

Hi Guys, looking for some help. I was able to follow the instructions and change my vodafone R1BA038 1215 6920 to 3 uk R1FA037 1212 9623. when I follow the same instructions to change back to vodafone 1215 6920, SEUS says update not available!
Any suggestions, as I am not able to change back.

You might be out of luck for now if the update has been pulled from SEUS. Try again in a couple of days and you should be able to go back. Why not just debrand though? Both Vodafone and 3 firmware branding is horrid!
