It doesn't use it as a default, and you should always put it to Infinite or Auto focus for those pictures. It just has too much noise reduction taking away the sharpness. It also seems to prefer being totally rock steady, which can be a pain sometimes.
I'll give it a bit longer to see if any firmware updates modify the camdriver. If not, I might look towards the Innov8 which has awesome details.

if i should stake my money on someone here (about c905)...i should do it on DarKMaGiCiaN.... his photos looks best & sharpest so far......plus, he have good knowledge about taking photos...(see older cam-threads)
otherwise.....buy c902, its a full blood point & shooter and take very sharp pics (just messing a bit)
ps..about samung 8510..... sure i have seen good pics with that phone, but (regarding to Flickr.com) i have seen quite many over-bright pictures as well....it also cost 7300kr in store (ca 700 euro)
so, i should rather stay with c905 and get a proper firmware...

The pics I've seen Dark post are pretty much the same quality as the current C905 firmware. Not much sharper at all.
The i8510 can be bought in UK for only Ģ50 more than the C905, so it's still a viable choice. And over-exposed pictures are from people who can't really use a camera, let's face it!
I would of course love to stay with , they are my company of choice, but the quality of pics does need to improve really. I think now we can see why all of Fontaines pics are loaded up at 800 x 600.

Im also interested in the c905 but im not impressed by the photos yet. The c902 seems to be much much better in sharpness outdoor.
A friend has one and at our latest party hers didnīt take better pics than my N82. The c905 had some problems with yellow tint mainly on skin-tones.
I lay low for a while to see if a new firmware improves the cam quality alot. I hope it does and i think they will sort it out but untill then i stay with my finnish brick..

Yes I noticed it tints the skin with the Xenon too. I have quite pale skin, and a picture taken with me in it had the most bizzare Homer Simpson effect

@marty-I am still optimistic about C905's chances in the cam department
Look at this landscape pic here by mobile-review
http://www.mobile-review.com/[....]nyeric/c905cam/day/c905-17.jpg
This is by Innov8
http://www.mobile-review.com/[....]eric/c905cam/day/innov8-17.jpg
http://www.mobile-review.com/review/sonyericsson-c905cam-en.shtml
And there are lots of pics there which I daresay are quite good.This is actually th first time that the review pics are better than the original version pics...
A new firmware maybe.  |

I'll do some outdoor daylight pics tomorrow, I really don't have to many to judge the sharpness since they are by and large portraits, which are nice and sharp, but my landscape night pics came out plenty sharp (they are uploaded fullsize):

@se_dude
im nt trying to defend innov8 but i think the pic with samsung is much better ... the grass has more details compared with the c905
SE needs a major tune up with the cam driver .. interestingly all the pics before the release of this phone were great ... wht went wrong

@se-dude
But did you even look at those pics you posted? Look at the terrible water colour effect of the C905:
This whole area has all the details washed out. Compared to the Innov8:
This what I'm talking about! The C905 just has seemingly zero details in landscape pictures. The Innov8 picked up everything!

Plank, it's a point and shoot camera. What skill could you possibly need with auto settings? You keep saying this to me that maybe I have poor photo skills. Please take a look at my Flickr page and tell me the same thing. I could frame a shot better than you all day with my hands tied behind my back. I have studied Arts and Design in College and Uni extensively.
What skills could you possibly need, with a point and shoot camera, that would suddenly take away the noise reduction and increase the sharpness? Please tell.
