Ok here's two quotes taken from the comments section at GSMArena. They are from the comments section so of course we can't entirely trust them and there is zero proof. They may just be stupid fanboys spouting this crap as if they know everything. However we can hope they are correct!

Opal said "SE used a 5.91mm canon lens wich is bigger than the K850 and N95 and have a bigger sensor check the devleoper site of SE and by the way the N95 had only 5.1mm lens so plz check the exact specs b4 posting here."

And an anonymous user said: "latest leaked video taken by the phone VGA at 30fps!"

Opal at least seems to know what hes talking about if you go through the other comments, but I don't think we should trust either of these comments YET.

How can we trust people like him if the very basic fact that N95 has 5.6mm and not 5.1 focal length was even falsipicated?

^^Anyway GSMArena has always been a nest for mostly childish and rude brand fanboys, but i'm glad that at least some members were acting in a very civilized manner.

Oh I didn't know he was wrong about that. I don't study camera specs so closely! I realise this is really nothing to go by until we see some solid evidence, but we can always hope huh?

This must be a mistake?

It is NOT a mistake.
According to the news from Taiwan, that hole is just a light sensor.
From this photo which is taken in Taiwan SE press conference,
we can see it is a light sensor and confirmed by SE.

So C905 WILL NOT HAVE VIDEOCALL. (Of course SE can change it afterwards )

But would not buy anymore as no convincing product after W900i. (Except FOMA SO905iCS, au W61S)

Kodak develops new 5MP image sensor for cellphone use
[snip!]
Kodak today announced their new 5MP CMOS image sensor KAC-05020 for cell phone use. According to Kodak, it is the world's first 1.4 micron 5MP sensor that is capable of high-quality images, stating "Camera phones and other small-pixel consumer imaging devices often suffer from poor performance, especially under low light conditions... By completely rethinking the design of the CMOS pixel and leveraging our work with high sensitivity color filter patterns and algorithms, Kodak was able to develop this remarkable new sensor that will enable a level of imaging performance previously unavailable from CMOS devices."
[snip!]
This is accomplished by Kodak's new TRUESENSE CMOS pixel, where the underlying "polarity" of the silicon is reversed, so that the absence of electrons is used to detect a signal. This change enabled a series of improvements to the design and structure of the pixel that ultimately results in CMOS imaging performance that rivals that available from CCD image sensors.

"CMOS imaging performance that rivals that available from CCD image sensors." If this is the Kodak same sensor used in the Motorola ZN5 we have seen sample shots from here at Esato then I'd say that they failed. At least Kodak admit that up till now CMOS has been inferior to CCD.

The white paper has been released, and by obligation to developers who might want to make use of that vido call camera, would have released that information already. and don't you all think it's a bit too late to add the video call camera in there at this point? The production lines are probably halfway through chugging out the hardware, and the remaining months before release will be spent on perfecting the firmware, distribution to and deals with carriers.

This is not the first video call camera-less 3G phone that will release, if ever (G502). Sad, I know. Although I don't do video calls that much, I see this as a major drawback. The lack of video calls camera, lack of microSD slot and the lack of VGA recording - it's looking like all the C905 has going for it is the monster megapixel camera (wi-fi and GPS are good but we didn't have these before, i.e., we weren't weaned to get used to having these things).

Here's hoping that in the next few months to release, we don't discover other lacking features, because honestly, I think one more glaring omission and people will start second-guessing if they really want to get this phone

Where exactly in the official website did they confirm the presence of a video call camera? The closest thing we can get to is the whitepaper, and it clearly states there that there's no secondary camera for making video calls

The G502 has that "video call" option as well, but the second party will only see a static picture on his end; if he has a video call camera in his phone, you'll see him.
