I asked a Question some time ago to if the K850i had Edge. I got a sirt of mixed response, more nos than yes. Even the SE website says the phone hasnt.

Since collecting my K850i, I can confirm that yes it does have Edge.

So the K800c has GSM>GPRS>EDGE
The K850i has GSM>GPRS>EDGE>UMTS>HSDPA

I have been using Edge on the phone (On o2) and oh yes you can tell the difference when your not using GPRS. I one good indicator, it says E on the phone instead of G when your in Edge range.

Only Orange in UK other than o2 supports edge I beleive

Hope this clears it up, Any other questions about the phone please ask

Is data transfer through EDGE counted within the 1MB monthly allowance or is it extra ?

Edge is counted through data transfer as you dont connect different,

Edge is a complimentry feature of GPRS. its what you call 2.95g

3g and HSDPA is also included in your 1mb bundle,

However i would suggest getting the £7.50 fair usage bundel, you you can play to your hearts content.

Yeah I'm not really likely to need it for anything else other than checking the footie scores when I can't get to a radio/tv or whatever.

Or maybe for MSN every now and then.

Either way, I reckon 1MB ought to be plenty.

Got my K850i yesterday and all I can say is that I'm hugely disappointed. The build quality seems poor to me, and it didn't really make me go 'wow'. No innovative features, pretty much same old same old really, yeah it has a 5 MP camera, but i wouldn't call that innovative. I've put it on eBay now, hopefully make a few quid on it.

Just wanted to query this.

When I received my K850 I had a sim card in the box but just thought I'd received it by mistake - do I need this SIM card then?

At the moment I've just put my old SIM card into the phone and carried on as normal?

@Ronaldeano

I was using an old pre 3G SIM previously so they sent out a new 3G enabled one so I could get full use of the phone and it's features. I had to call them up and get them to switch my old number across, which takes a few hours for the system to complete and now all is good.

I'd ignore the new SIM if you already have a 3G one, if not switch them over to get the 3G-ness
