BLAME IT ON THE PORTUGUESE NANCY BOY

Today's Sun calls Cristiano Ronaldo "the world's biggest winker" and a "Portuguese nancy boy", while penalty flop Steven Gerrard brands him "bang out of order" and penalty flop Frank Lampard claims he's "not very nice". And even though penalty flop Jamie Carragher was man enough to admit "there's no point in moaning", a consensus seems to have emerged in Poor Little England that the fiendish winger wasn't playing by the rules when he complained about Tabloid Wayne's decision to trample Ricardo Carvalho's crown jewels.

"I saw Ronaldo going over to the referee and giving him the card," whinged serial diver Gerrard, exposing the incompetence of millions of viewers who failed to spot any such thing. "If he were one of my team-mates I would be absolutely disgusted with him," continued Gerrard, who would presumably hold Ronaldo in much higher esteem if he'd stamped on a grounded player's knackers.

"He's supposed to be a team-mate of Wayne's at [MU Rowdies] and he does something like that," moaned Lampard, who's supposed to be a team-mate of Carvalho's at Chelsea. " A lot has been made of trying to promote fair play in this tournament and that was certainly not fair play," continued dim Lamps.

While all this childishness is as shameful as it was predictable, at least proud England fans can rely on their FA to stick out a stiff upper lip and show a shred of dignity in defeat. Can't they? Um, not quite. For today's Sun quotes "a top FA source" as revealing approvingly that Rooney is "determined to settle the score in his own way" when he sees Ronaldo back in Manchester. "Wayne said he would split him in two and smack him in the head," hurrayed the hanger-on before booming, "and who can blame him?" Yes, who can blame him, or indeed any Englishmen, when it's so much easier to blame an innocent Johnny Foreigner?

this says it all about some behaviours iīve seen from some english fans

to the others, congrats for the great game, specially 10vs11, the english players were giants

the game was almost entirely 50vs50, but Portugal was better overral, being the penalties part of these kind of games

now with France it will be extremely difficult...but iīve a feeling it will be one of the best games of the WC

England had the better chances by far

and here comes one of those types of english fans...

of course you seem to forget Figoīs, Tiagoīs and Ronaldoīs clear opportunities for goal

England was NEVER superior to Portugal 11vs11...in fact you played better 10vs11 with 8 defences and Crouch and the youngster at front

What iīve seen from some english people only can be described has a patology, and thatīs how people from the other countries see your bad loosing attitude

nd I reckon would have won the game if if weren't for Rooney gettings sent off.

yeah...ROTFL

It was 50/50

Both teams had some opportunities, but not very clear

Rooney deserved to be out

England played better with 10

Portugal didnīt played has they should against 10 (like holland against Portugal)

Portugal was, has usual, much better at penalty kicks

Portugal deserved to pass overrall

Now, there are people that just canīt accept facts

For me livin' in sweden and watchin' this WC. It's one of the most boring WC in history not a single MAJOR upset. And the brits blame their lose on everything. Just face it UK has only one WC victory at hometurf so something must be wrong with that nations soccer. Bad players, bad coachers, bad training or something else I just dont know but something's wrong there. Let's hope Germany wins this one just for one single reason and that reason's that they scored a lot of goals anyway. Just not Italy with their boring style.
Georgia aint no paradise. But a place I call home.

Not one upset you say Germany beat Argentina and France beat Brazil? I would have thought Argentina and Brazil should have and could have won their matches?
