The sensor up top is for light (how much ambient lighting - if any) and adjusts the display/keypad backlight accordingly.
The handsets just been released on T-Mobile too. |

I got mine last Thursday and spent 1.5 hours on Sunday in CPW explaining the screen was faulty because it kept "flickering"...Oops.
Also it doesn't have the song recognition feature either?
CarPhoneWarehouse on Orange?

I too read that it was a LED, but I don't think it is. If you enter the service settings and test the LED/Illumination, it doesn't light up with the rest so I don't think it is.
It's a shame, because I really like status LEDs. It seems SE only puts them on their flip phones. |

Does that mean that the flicker is a fault?
Cos mine does that!

OK, I have run into a slight issue!
Is there any way that anyone knows to change the shortcut button for the Walkman? I appreciate the idea behind having it as that lovely orange button but it's too near the metal bit you pull to open the slider and not for the first time, the Kaiser Chiefs have been heard, full blast, in the office, to the non amusement of my boss!
I've looked and moved around other shortcuts but can't see any way to access that. |

Thought it was service too but it appears to be a light sensor to make the screen lighter or darker to save battery. ?

people the "flicker screen" happens on the W810i its a lil Light sensor to ajust the screen like ya man said ferther up its not an LED as it would be on as its a Light Edmiting Diode its there to save battery and increase screen performance (in light and dark) i noticed this lil light sensor when i thought my screen was dammaged on my w810i i think the k800 has it i dunno but hope thishelps people thinking that there phone is "faulty"

it's a light sensor. to test it, use the orange bubbles theme then go in a well lit room. try to cover the sensor and you'll see that it will dim a little. remove the cover and it will brighten up again. |
