onslo...prob with logosunlimited or uk server is pretty serious...it has been going on for more than 4 days now...that's why I had to go to gsmphonesource's server, through Adam. Listen, if you have to flash right away, I'd suggest that you contact gsmphonesource.com and get a credit there and go for it, it may be worth looking into..don't know when the Thai server is coming on line again.

Good luck, make sure of the master reset....

I got following mail from Unlocking explaining about the problem:

I've just come into the office to find that the server is not working and presently under maintenance. I've also been told that it will not be on-line until tomorrow or Wednesday the latest, sorry!

One thing after another, eh!

We're really sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, I know that you've been trying to connect for some time now and it must be frustrating. please bear with us, we will sort this out once and for all.

R5A020 was quite buggy.

If you have a local sony ericsson service center, you should instead go through the EMMA2 route, if you are in the US (and don't want to pay much $$$), or if you have a phone that has provider customizations that you want to get rid off - look at the table and flash it using the unlocker..

I've updated the table again, MILD7 stated that his VoiceStream R4C T68m has the BT Failure after flashing it with the T68ie R5D007 (not the EU).

hey funks, feeling any better? I've just read the latest 5 or 6 posts and have come to some conclusions (utterly my opinions really).

Firstly, when you update from t68m to i, your battery should not generally get any better..if anything, the new fw produces a more realistic voltage read and thereby produces a more realistic standby and talktime report...having said this, pls. note that not all batteries are created equal...absolutely not. And to further frustrate the situation, chemical "ingredients" used in producing batteries are not always in the same equal states, which most often means that one battery will last longer than others, or some that don't work at all...even though they were produced right next to ones that may work exceptionally...Just remember though, not to long ago, we were looking at 3-5 day standby times as GREAT. I guess we just need to keep everything in life in perspective...and yes, that even applies to our tools, and toys.

Secondly, I, along with many others, have spent countless hours and energy and money in the name of this private flashing thing and it just upsets me that all of that work means nothing when someone just pops into the end of the thread and asks for step by step instructions...I know they must have seen the 27 or so pages of posts under this very thread...could they have just simply ignored it? Or do they honestly not know? Lazy? I am not trying to sound like some others who just simply berate others for asking questions, but come on, lots and lots of work here guys, give it some consideration...read, and the worst that could happen is that you may learn something, especially something that could save you hundreds of dollars on the purchase of a new phone.

Lastly, my guarantee: I will try to post only the cleanest firmwares from the latest flashes, done only by emma2. I will not simply dump some firmware from some phone and then drop it on you guys. But as far as bluetooth and standby times are concerned...we are getting closer...we can only feel our way around for now, since none of us worked on the development team for the t68m/i. The guideline I posted earlier could "help" to prevent those problems from surfacing, but definitely not a guaratee. This whole flashing thing is no guarantee and definitely not for the weak of heart. Again, I say as I always try to say at the end of my posts, good luck and be patient and follow the guidelines, it should work out...And I stand firmly by what I am about to say: for those of you who do not know why you even need to flash, don't do it. It takes more than just curiousity to make it work.

av0135,

Very well put mate !

There's no rush for this flash, and I am prepared to wait until the server is back up and stable again. I hope nobody was flashing their phone when it died !!

I will try aagin on Thursday or Friday, by then it should be up properly and have ben running for a day or two.

Thanks

Arrrrghhh!

Read the thread, I know it's long, but all the information you could ever possibly want to know about the basic requirements and sources for such requirements are in it.

onslo...you're a trooper...a true example of how it should be, and now, you could probably give advice as to how to do it!!!

On another note, anyone here thinks I should post the fw from a brand spanking new, zero call time, about 10 or so joystick clicks Cingular t68i with the following info: 02week45, hardware revision R5B, firmware rev. R3A023.

If there is a need, I will post it for funks to make available, if not, so be it. Funks, you would then know exactly where I will post it, yes?

Have a wonderful day guys!!!

I just had my T68mc (bought from a friend from Taiwan), hardware R1B (48th week of 2001), original firmware R1C, flashed to R5C by a shop in the U.K. using the Ericsson Warrior client (supposedly the exact same as EMMAII but significantly faster).

I tested the Bluetooth functionality with a friend's iPAQ, and the phone was able to be discovered, and I was able to send files/contacts back and forth between the iPAQ and the T68. Phew. One strange thing, not sure if anyone else has noticed this, is that when I previously paired the T68 with the iPAQ, the T68 was listed as a mobile phone. Now, when I pair them, it's listed as a "computer workstation" ! All the dialing and Bluetooth-modem capabilities still work from the iPAQ though. Has anyone else experienced this?

A great relief that BT is still working, but then I checked the standby times - down to the dreaded 56hr range after a full night's recharge! (originally over 220hrs or so). I understand that some people were able to get rid of the problem by flashing to R5D through EMMAII - does anyone know if EMMAII will now accept flashing my phone, as it previously would not work when I tried to have it flashed by Carphone Warehouse in the U.K. because it is originally a T68mc.

Also of interest is that the "Recorder" function does not work now - it completely locks up the phone after 1 second. Any other experiences with this?

Finally, R5C is definitely a *huge* upgrade compared to my original R1C. Not only do I now have English/French/Spanish/German/Portuguese, with T9, I also have the "Notes" feature, a much better "Task List" interface, great Themes, support for IMelody, and lots of other benefits. Other than the standby problem, I am absolutely elated.

AV0135, don't waste your time dumping the Cingular T68i firmware ( I have an older version of it on my website with zero call timer, and joystick counter), more than good enough as a backup.

It's not a *nice* firmware to flash *any* phone with (except if you want it back to get warranty service on your Cingular T68i) as CINGULAR has locked a bunch of the menu's in their customized firmware (the most notable one being you can't add any new WAP profiles to it, they disabled the menus to do so).

The first thing to be done on a cingular phone should be a firmware flash to get rid of the cingular customizations (but then again, bluetooth might break)..

The SE Warrior is not the exactly the same as emma II as it most likely will have the same problems as the Unlocking Client (written by the same people I think)..

As for EMMA2 accepting a flash, you might want to try (I'm thinking that EMMA2 peruses the customization value on the phone), it might be fooled because it definitely has changed after you flashed the firmware It's worth a try IMHO..

If EMMA2 still wont' take it, try using AV0135's dumped firmware instead using the Unlocking client to flash your phone..

AT&T has released some new T68i branded as T68is.. The only thing different with it I believe is that it comes with the R5D007 firmware by default.. I'll try to snag one and dump the firmware for the AT&T peeps.

Thanks adamizer...but I think this needs some responding to...Let's see, whatever my name is, is unimportant, to you or anyone, it's only what I've tried to do for the past month or so...that's a lot of time..or you wouldn't understand that since you just want the whole thing something smartly packaged for your use. I'm sorry but it doesn't work that way...we spend the time, time no one asked us to devote and time that will definitely will never be compensated for...so I think that you too must be smart and spend the time to look over what others have done and maybe benefit from it.

So now you want to post a post like this, in red, just to show others how, what should I say, righteous you are? I don't think this is what I bought into when I started to spend all that time and money, money that you are definitely going to avoid burning, to work on these issues. No good deed goes unpunished, I gather.

Good luck guys, I think that I'm done with this, and funks, thanks for the heads up on the Cingular thing. I'm going to get a clean flash on emma2 tomorrow and I will pm you and let you know. Any particular language set you want? And it will be at your discretion to distribute, I think people are more destructive than even they will consider.

Sorry, omitted one very important thing: Us "numbnuts" have not received a dime from you for any of this work, so please, do not say you are paying us for anything. Lastly, what are you doing hanging around with numbnuts anyways? Maturity, maturity...

AV, if you are trying to get a T68i Cingular Flashed, it might not be a good idea to go through the emma2 route as it will have the same darned menu locks (EMMA2 can't remove customizations) although the firmware will be new.. As for your T68m, if you get it flashed, the North American Language set is great (US English, Spanish, French) along with Western EU (UK English, Spanish, French, and Italian I believe)..

As for the person getting pissy, eheh.. He/She should check the other messages in this forum, they are quite a bit more harse.. The first thing people tell you is *use the - SEARCH* button. Sheesh, some people want instant gratification I guess..
