I think people are having themselves on when they say the camera is quicker. It seems exactly the same as R1A008. It still takes a second or two for the word "saving" to appear after you've pressed the button. It still takes the photo when you hear the shutter sound, but has a saving delay. Where's the improvement? |

the improve isn't the time between the shuter sound and saving the photo, it's the time btween shuter sound and taking the photo.
and yes, i feel it, cause now when i heard the sound, i can imediately move my phono, and the photo will be clear. |

The improvement is that the photo is actually taken when you hear the shutter sound. Previously, there would be times (Quite often actually) when you'd take a photo and then move the camera after hearing the shutter sound. Then you'd look at the photo you just took and find a blur or maybe a picture of the ground because the actual image captured was shortly after the shutter sound. This made taking pictures of moving objects extremely hard. Even portraits were hard as people naturally relax or move once they hear the shutter. So, this "lag" is what appears to have been fixed with this f/W - the actual time to save is probably just the same. I hope this makes sense. |

Could someone with an unbranded K750, who's been able to use SEUS to update to R1BC002 tell me what CDA their phone is?
I want to un-brand my O2 UK branded K750 using DaVinci and change the CDA at the same time so I can update to R1BC002 using SEUS.
Thanks.

R1BC002 is sensational.
I updated from R1L002, so am getting the improvements of R1N and R1A for the first time, but missing out on the cable transfer bug
The Good:
Picture zoom function is quicker
Egg timer while zooming, rotating and viewing pictures, which provides useful feedback
Picture browsing faster, menu faster
Speaker louder (haven't tested headset yet)
Backlight doesn't flash on after phone is locked
Improved reception - not fully tested yet but initially seems better. Signal strength meter is higher than normal.
Less noise in lowlight images
No delay taking photo after shutter sound. (this is the most useful improvement of all firmware changes so far)
AND
VIDEO IS AWESOME.....(R1L002 is the broken video firmware, so this is new for me)
The Bad:
Bluetooth security - still asks for file confirmations with paired devices??
Overview
Have transferred 60MB or so without problems. Will relax when I've done more like 200MB. The egg timer is useful so you know for sure you have pressed the joystick while navigating or zooming pics. Menu speed is a little faster but nothing to write home about.
The elimination of the delay in photo taking is the single most useful improvement in all firmwares so far, imho. This photo delay has caused me to lose some great photo opportunities! Lowlight performance has improved (over R1L002 atleast can't say about more recent firmwares).
I did some test videos and they are much much better. This is the second most useful improvement over R1L002. I am very excited about my video camera now! It will actually now be useable R1L video is truly crap.
No obvious bugs, only good stuff. R1BC002 delivers.....eventually

The problem is the phone will still restart by it own if you transfer a few meg of file OUT from your phone memory, but not from your memory stick. |

i just flashed my phone to R1NA005 and discovered one bug - it should probably be also a bug for later/earlier versions
i dont use clock in the standby and no screensaver. and so when i lock the phone the light dissapears, and after a few seconds the phone goes to standby. the bug is that there is a little (1/10 of a second) flash just when the phone crosses from the wallpaper to standby! |
