It's a slippery bugger though the N8 cos of the metal so getting a gel case. I like the blue N8 but it was too pricey so went for black.

You can get a blue case
For Lumia are also some cases available. I'm hoping for a yellow one. I've seen some snap-on but I want one like the original.

The gel cases are good, my husband has one too, as the N8 does slip out of your hands easily, especially in winter time, when you've cold hands.
The blue and green versions are more expensive here too, my husband always wanted either a blue or green one, but they were only available in Nokias online shop (doesn't exist anymore now), and the price difference to the black or silver one was more, than he was willing to pay, hence he's bought a silver one. Now we've finally found a green one at a reasonable price and Peters brother is happy with his "old" silver one, still in excellent condition

Well Gorilla glass is scratch resistant but not resistant to breaking. But,it can withstand a certain amount of knocks & pressure & I guess depends at what height & where you drop it!!

things can break when you only look at it and survive a fall from the sky.

I hate that moment though when you realised you dropped your lovely device It seems to happen in slow motion too & you hear it clunk on the ground!! Phone manufacturers should make their phones out of the same materials the Olympus tough cameras which are water, shock & freeze proof. But I guess it will bump up costs!! It's Christmas next week

All colours basically cost the same, but the coloured versions are not as widely available, the cheaper shops usually have only the version that sells most, which is either black or silver, so you'd have to buy from a shop which is more expensive anyways.
Gorilla glass is strong, but it's still glass, it can break and it can get scratched. We've never carried any metal things (coins or keys) in the same pocket as an unprotected phone, no matter, what type of screen it had.

Ah do not weep dear Miss UK its gone to a good home. Most traded in phones either get recycled or if in good working order they refurbish them and sell them to developing countries
