| Yes, if the price is right. |

@amby: I agree with you. The pricing is key. But do we have a track-record of right pricing by telecoms operators?
As it is, even GPRS is considered quite expensive at the current tariffs. Honestly, I don't know what prevents the GSM networks from charging a flat monthly fee like the PTOs do. All they have to do is build some extra capacity to handle the volume of data traffic that will ensue.
Consider that MTN has been running free GPRS (with full web access) for months now and their network has not collapsed. That proves the strain can be contained.

Cant believe vmobile gave me full web access on gprs, i connected my 6630 to my lap top with a usb cable and ran a pc suite on it, which allow me to connect web thru gprs and after typing the access point and password, fiam! The internet starts to run, this post is directed to aya, does that mean i have full gprs

@Dejitella: if that is so, it then means that vmobile now offers full gprs to its prepaid subs, which also means seinsho was right all along. I'll try this and see. @mamba: EDGE is an upgrade of GPRS that provides faster speeds. I cannot confirm if video streaming is possible on EDGE. 3G is to UMTS what 2G is to GSM. 3G stands for 3rd generation, and represents the tech class, while UMTS is the technology. WCDMA is also 3G. GPRS is referred to as 2.5G while EDGE is 2.75G. Of the lot, 3G is the fastest. |
