SONY Xperia Rumors 2013 Edition |

I think we need to be more understanding. It's not like king-James is a troll. It seems Sony have been funny regionally with different qualities... Hopefully it's software or only the first few batches.
In the UK, a friend has the Z. I was shocked with how good the viewing angles were as I thought they were rubbish. The screen is the most realistic I have seen, and is definitely not washed out.

KJ, calm down dude.
Quoting does not add anything to the number of pages as each page goes by post numbers rather than post length.
The shatterproof sheets DO make all the difference because that is the part you're finger touches, not the glass. When you tap the phone, you're tapping the shatterproof sheet not the glass. I had a shaterproof sheet on my x10a before I eventually removed it and I can confirm the phone had a very different feel and sound when I tapped it compared to now with just the mineral glass.
I mean it's like walking up to someone with a leather jacket on, you touch and feel the jacket and comment on why their skin feels so leathery. It's not their skin you're touching, but the jacket! Just like here it's not the glass screen you're touching, but the shatterproof sheet! |

I go away for a few weeks and this is what I return to?
King-James, your constant use of massive bold font looks significantly worse than the quotation boxes that people are posting (the point of which are to help people understand who and what people are responding to).
Unbelievable......
EDIT:
What's all this nonsense about Dragontrail?
Having played around with a Z, its pretty straightforward to see that there is a thin, plastic sheet pressed over the top of the glass. That's been standard Sony (Ericsson) practice for years. Maybe it doesn't feel great in the hand, compared to "naked" glass, but it certainly feels a lot better than most devices out there.
In any case, the Z is hardly what you'd call a bad phone but whatever.
It would probably be wise to keep your expectations down to earth. If you expect Sony to bring out phones made from rare earth metals using exotic technology that neither exists, nor is physically possible using current technology, then you shouldn't really be surprised when reality doesn't come close.

I say we all calm down. Again, we know King-James to not be a troll. And he is not a Sony hater either.
He agrees the feel is down to taste. Most say the build quality is second to none. I do. A minority don't. That's okay.
The screen seems to be different regionally. Or batches. Or whatever. Again, King-James won't disagree.
Let's stop arguing and discuss Dogo. |

@king-james,
The front glass of Z is Dragontrail and the back is Gorilla. Sony has confirmed that. |

When will it be released? I think July-August is the best time for Sony to release Dogo. The iPhone 5S might get released sometime this summer as some rumors say and Qualcomm said we should expect the first S800 devices in July... |

Can we ban @king-james? That would be nice... |

No Corning glass 2 at the back, just dragontrail as front. I have this device a smacked the back as hard as the front of the device, no such Corning glass will survive that.
Sony make a mistake about that, it's not Corning that's for sure.
Second: Get rid of the plastic sheet on the glass, you will be very pleased.

I am concerned about the battery capacity in a device that small with a 5" display. Smaller than ZL could mean that it is .01 mm smaller. If Sony ends up using Sharp's IGZO display like some suggest the battery consumption should be a lot lower compared to the displays in the Z and ZL. |

@DACHA
Can you please provide me with the display type once you know it |

I'm very excited with these new rumors... can anyone give a summary?
6 flagship-level phones? Sony is crazy. But I have a feeling they will have a very good 2013 because of it. I mean, honestly who doesn't want choice? The other manufacturers are giving you one flagsheep per year, oops I mean flagship, while Sony gives you choice.
(Sorry that was kind of corny) |

I will never know for certain. The Z uses 3 or 4 different displays but the majority of the phones has the good Sharp display. Only UK and some other parts of Europe got the JDI displays. They got the shorter end of the stick this time around.
