This moment is special.
Can you imagine how a DVD of today's match would sell amongst cricketing fans the world over?
I wonder what the 'babelaas' total in SA will be tomorrow would be... or how many people will be phoning in 'sick' for work tomorrow...

What a game!!! And in case any of you missed it, Gibbs bade everybody a "moerse babelas" aka massive hangover! So to those who indulge, cheers!!!
Regarding the visit by Oregan Hoskins, plenty of pics were taken, only to find last night that the 128mb mmc had stuffed up to the extent that the phone wouldn't even reboot when the card was inserted. With any luck a buddy with the relevant pc software may yet be able to salvage all data.

does anyone know when the yesterday's game will be available on dvd?
I WANT IT!!
the movie tsotsi is about:
TSOTSI traces six days in the life of a ruthless young gang leader who shoots a woman outside her home and steals her car - unaware, in his panic, that her baby is in the back seat.
Set amidst the sprawling townships of Johannesburg - a mass of unrelenting heat and poverty where survival is always the primary objective - TSOTSI is a man to fear. Orphaned by AIDS at the age of nine and forced to claw his way to adulthood alone, TSOTSI is governed by nothing but impulse and instinct. He is a hunter fascinated by the fear he so easily inflicts on others. Bolstered by his small crew of social rejects, a failed teacher, a dim-witted heavy, and a cold blooded assassin, TSOTSI refuses to think further ahead than the raids of the coming night.
One night, during an alcohol-fuelled evening at a local shebeen (illicit liquor bar) TSOTSI is put under pressure by a drunken Boston to reveal something of his past; or at the very least, his real name... The questions evoke painful, long repressed memories that TSOTSI would prefer to keep buried. Still, Boston keeps asking…
Suddenly, TSOTSI lashes out with his fists and beats Boston’s face to a pulp. The violence is brief but extreme. TSOTSI turns and flees into the night. He runs wildly, desperate to escape the pain of unwelcome images rising in his mind. By the time he stops running he has crossed from the shantytown into the more affluent suburbs of the city.
He comes across a woman in a driveway who is struggling to open her motorised gate with a faulty electronic remote. TSOTSI draws his gun... It’s an easy opportunity for an impromptu car jacking. As he races away in the woman’s silver BMW, he hears the cry of a child…
There’s a 3 month old baby in the back of the car! Forced to care for this unwanted baby, TSOTSI cannot avoid confronting his own humanity.
Following six days in the life of this lonely young criminal, TSOTSI is an emotive journey in which the central character is compelled to confront his own brutal nature and face the consequences of his actions. It puts a human face on both the victims and the perpetrators of violent crime and is ultimately a story of hope and a triumph of love over rage.

thanks for the review bardboy.
last year,a nice movie was made in India which won many acclamation and awards for acting, direction, story etc...it was called BLACK.It involved a relationship between a deaf, mute and blind child being taught by her tutor.everyone expected it to compete for Oscars but India sent a bullshit movie to oscars this year which dealt with ghosts and all....a story taking place about 300 years ago.Indian govt and Indian tourism still want west to think that India is still a poor country of kings, elephants, snake charmers and all that bullshit.
for a review of "black",here the link:

It was great to see yesterday's incredible match get a decent, deserved amount of exposure/mention in the UK,on both Skynews and on the radio this morning, while driving to work.
Arsenal's win over Liverpool(made much easier by Gerrard's very expensive 'blaps'..) still dominated the back pages of most of the Pom newspapers though, but they at least had decent enough articles about THE match in them. Even the king of the very tongue-in-cheek tabloids, 'The Sun', had a title simply called '872!'
@ dr_thug,
How much exposure is the proposed Aishwarya Rai/Will Smith movie getting?
Oh, and congrats to the Indian cricket team on their resounding win against England in Mohali today. Patel really looks to be making his mark in the cricketing world. Good on him.

@amawanga,just now,i read about the ash-will smith article.i wasn't aware of it
ash was to star opposit will smith in 'hitch' but that didnt take place.hope this proposed movie goes into production.
About exposure,u can expect some clevage and all but no nudity.coz if she does that, then theres nothing else to look out for in ash
but seriously,if she does any nudity,(unlikely...she is smart and manages her money and makes her deals herself)thats the end of her career in India(highest paid actress in India).
Will Smith's tour in India...

Interesting doc, but I was more intrigued regarding the most famous Indian actress making another landmark movie which should further propel her international status, kinda like Bride and Prejudice did, I suppose.
I'm sincerely glad that she's such a dignified and smart, sophisticated lass.

I'm not a great fan of Bollywood films but would definitely like to see Ash show some flesh, no soft porn but at least some breast.
Indian cinema reminds me of Scope magazine, all the teaze without the sleaze.

I'm not really a movies fan, barely spending time in front of the tv as it is, so i'm kinda out of my depth here. When i do take interest in a movie it's either been hyped so much that i'm forced to pay attention, or it's one of Tarantino's works, who imho is a misunderstood genius. (i nicked that line, btw. Personally i just like his movies hehehe)
