@Tiger is it hard to change the speaker?

Speaker-change on a T28 is quite simple. Open the frontcover - takeout display unit - replace speaker!
But if speaker works in the test-menu, I think a simple speaker-change wouldn't be enough. Might also be a problem of the audio-decoder and that's hard to fix (would be more expensive to solder out the unit and replace with a new one than buying a new T28)

@ kothor:
Perhaps what Tiger was saying is true, the earpiece of the T28 is similar & built to the T29, but do try the service tests or go & initiate a call to be sure.
If the problem still persists, it may be a problem with the audio IC (integrated circuit) which is a tough part ot find alone or has minimal chances of being repaired. But do try to have the unit fluxed to clean out dirty contacts within the board itself.

I'm 98% sure that's a speaker leak, because in the tests, it works only when pressing '2' key and not every time i do it. What about calling, i hear how the tranceiver works, but there's no sound in the speaker. I'll go to the SP and check it out, what can they do.
@Boba i think it would be better for me to buy handsets here, because it's quite hard to transfer money on outsider's accounts for me, but thanks for an advice. |

Sounds like it's bad soldering on the audio circuit. A quite common problem on T28, just by pressing on the phone (mostly button 2 or 5) the sound is working but not else. When you do the same during a call you will probably hear the sound through the speaker. |

@Cytech Yes! You are right! 5 and 2 keys are working, when calling i can even hear something! And is there a remedy for that problem?

@kothor
the problem is caused by bad soldering on parts of the audio circuit, the easiest solution is to resolder the audio circuit but then you need a hot air blower.. so it's nothing to recommend you trying at home unless you have the right equipment |
