 | Upadated my Z1 on 4.4, camera improvements are real, pictures have less noise, and are better.
But, this software is very buggy, my phone is often totally unresponsive and camera interface bugs, it changes to video recording by itself even if i am taking pictures. Battery drains 5x faster then with 4.3

 | @Northmonkey The Z1 is still the best Android camera phone on the market and has just got better thanks to the Kitkat update till the Z2 is released and how many people do you think will be scrutinising every single image they take probably less than 5% most people will just point and shoot and be more than happy with the results, ie myself and the majority of all Z1 users. I'm so happy 'cause todayI've found my friends ...

 | No update here yet, guess this explains the 7xx version of the software which is testing, probably addresses the bugs. |

 | just updated my z1. The initial boot looks good, but its not of good quality like it doesn't seem the animation is 1080p. Xperia T + N 96 R.I.P Desire |

Same here. I don't know why Sony seem to leave the unbranded units until later in the update cycle. Surely the unbranded units are the easiest to update as they don't have to be approved by the networks.

@jcwhite_uk I did read somewhere, not sure how true it is, that the sim free models have to wait now for all the networks to approve and roll out the updates because the sim free ones need to work on all networks
It never happened that way before, seems more like the networks dictating to Sony

Are you sure about that? From a non biased consumer I think the S4 takes better pics because of the better processing.

I wasn't having a go but you are an Xperia junkie after all lol.

 | @Northmonkey I have had the chance to test the S4 against the Z1 at the same time with working in a mobile phone shop and the Z1 does produce the better higher quality image even when using the 8mp manual mode. I'm not saying the Z1 is perfect heck even the 1020 has a few issues but in terms of overall quality the Z1 is the best (in Android) and yes my username may make me sound biased but I will gladly admit when Sony have been beaten weather in camera quality or any other field.
I'm not a camera expert far from it to be honest but even I have been able see the difference between the Z1 and S4. I don't know if you have had the chance to use the camera on the Z1 yourself and if you do pick one up cheap with the release of the Z2 I am sure you will agree with me given time with the camera.

 | Two annoying things with this update, the rest seem great so far
 1. In camera, the recent pictures will be everything and not just your camera photos. Which is annoying. It always used to be camera pictures in Sony or se from ages.

 2. The issue with kitkat and how applications can use sd card. :@

 | still no update here. i suppose if there is another "bug fix" version coming out then i probably won't be getting an update until that is ready. i guess that's fine.
i am pretty annoyed with the kitkat SD card interaction... guess there will have to be ways around it or just don't install very many games.
