just wondering what apps u guys use to back up your data on the phone? i use Astro file manager to backup apps on my X10 and uses Gmail and Sony Ericsson Sync to back up my contacts, calendar etc. Is there any better apps that back up all the data on the phone in one place so that if anything goes wrong u can have the backup in place? Thanks ! |

I've tried Gmail to sync my contacts, but without a good result. It is just not 100% compatible. I have put +46 in front of all my phonenumbers, but Gmail looses the + sign so my phonebook becomes worthless. You can't dial without the + sign unless you skip the country code. Therefore when I'm in the phonebook I choose settings/more and Copy to contact/Memorycard. Then the backup will be on the memorycard 100% compatible with your X10.

@mange69 when does gmail lose the + ? got scared when i saw what you wrote, and checked my gmail contacts, and they all have the + infront of the number?
you mean it loses when updating contacts from gmail>phone? never tried that, but it works fine the other way around.

Check your contacts in your gmail on the web. Do they have + or not? It happened to me once and I have not tried it again. Maybe it was a one-time thing, but...

I also lost my contacts when syncing with the GMAIL account... its better to do this sync at first, and then add contacts later. |

Hi,
I try to install a Walkie talkie log today... It says me i don't have the root access and do this to have one:
$ su
$ mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
$ cd /system/xbin
$ cat su > suser
$ chmod 4755 suser
$ exit
$ suser
$ cd /system/bin
$ chmod 4755 su
My question is where can i write this, how to open the console ?
Thanks |

@ emanuelj I will do. I have ordered in black though, I would have ordered it in white but it means ordering a new screen etc.. and I have not found anyone selling them at the moment.
I have also removed the standard screen protector at the moment, straight away I have noticed the screen is much more vibrant and the touch screen responsiveness has improved massively. The standard screen protector is also very thick. However, it does seem to mark very easily so I have also ordered a Clear-Coat screen protector.
@Skibbe What class of MicroSD card are you using? Looking at them figures it looks like a class 2 card? As the class of the card is limiting the transfer speed

AndyD777 why dont the white fit the black? i have no screen protector... (playing with fire)
and do you get the chrome things when you buy the white? does not look like chrome.
When i bought my x10i the girl said that x10 and iphone where the only phones that has a glas(screen) so if i drop it it may break and offerd an insurance. now my question is it on the screen itself or on the housing, and are the spare housing glass too in that case?
i guess ju answerd my question without my name SD i have no idea it's the 8gb default that comes with the phone, so you mean its some kind of value/crap sdcard?

Update on the R2BA016 update:
Was told by a reliable source within SE today that it would be w/c 21st June 2010 (had to put the year for complete clarity!).. He's trying to confirm exact timescales.. but he was quite certain it would be that week. |

@AndyD777: okey, sounded like they not where compatible with eachother
the chrome should be black, then it would be a real stormtroper phone
