JasonDeFaoite-> sorry if i made the mistake(based on ur reply) but from what i see they really need to test network as this MMS thing is very new to singapore's network
even M1 giving a free MMS trial to 200 lucky t68i user, they also want to see how their network can cope with the demand when MMS will as popular as SMS now
U have the point that maybe SE is giving a training for the staff as this is not an ordinary software upgrade but it is a conversion -> i agree fully on this statement
no hard feeling but i accept all feedback from you fellow t68 user

Correct me if I am wrong JasonDeFaoite. Though what you said it is absolutely correct, they have this MMS for T68i user to test run why do they need to test the sw since it is the same as T68i. From my personal view of point is this is an upgraded sw it is not originally designed for T68. And now especially to upgrade to MMS for T68 it has to eliminate everything from T68 sw and in put the T68i sw. It is just like a transplant of organs it may anytime goes wrong. So who will be the want to be blamed. Thats why they are very careful to ensure everything is in order than they dare to release the sw. Frankly I am not tecnical inclined this is what I can think for as a lay man terms. Beside I also fully agreed with you that the SE people do not want to take the blame if anything goes wrong on the phone. Partly I also think they want to have the feed back from europe site which had already done the upgrading. That is why it had been delayed for such a long period. Or else to test the sw should not have take such a long time.

Yeap! I fully support dairin message. This is a discussion forum. Somtimes we may be wrong on what we are thinking. We learn from one to another. We should not have hard feelings towards other posters if they point out our mistake. After all we can learn through mistake made.

I am not saying there is no testing required, what I am saying is that the excuse of need to test the MMS portion of it for network compatibility is in my humble opinion just pure delaying tactics on SE's behalf.
Now MMS may need testing ... it is new and many things can go wrong ... but why only the T68m "converted" phone needs this testing with the networks and not the T68i??
As Tony said, many things can go wrong, but that is with the upgrade or conversion itself. You screw up a flash of the phone memory, it is not as easy as just reflashing it. SE do not want 100's of T68s coming back to them dead (a friend of mine just had his T39 killed by the Jurong Serivce centre during an upgrade ... took 3 days but got a new phone).
I would be very very surprised to see a bug "detected" in all this supposed testing and it fixed and the f/w recompiled and released, all in the space of 1 week of it being available from EMMA2.
Anyways, whatever the reason ... i think we all wish SE would just hurry the f**k up  |

Hi Jason,
i feel that the one that SE testing now is how the network will react to this MMS as it contains more than the original SMS where as only text inside it, that's why only 200 M1 lucky t68i user able to test the network.
if they can find and solved all the bugs detected in the space of 1 week would be better as i dun want to convert my software then later find out that it's buggy

Okay,now we knew that who our "common enemy" is. No ill feelings towards each other okay? No wonder now than I know why Spider man came to Singapore at this time of year. Because SE is asking him to standby and help to kill the bugs if detected in the sw....

hahaha that's very funny TonyG, better SE ask spiderman to lend the spiderweb so can catch all the bugs and solve it once and for all(faster) so we can get it the upgrade faster also

It will be free so long as your warranty is still valid. Anyway as i ve mentioned the jurong pt service pt guy told mé he usually does it free 4 every1. And the sw will only be out end of may.

Hope he still can say like that when other SESP charging us for the upgrade, i confirm go there to upgrade eventhough it's very far from my place
