I shoulda guessed
try incoming as mail.live.com and outgoing as smtp.live.com
in the advanced settings, ensure SSL is ON and port is 995

hi masseur,
tried that, and it doesn't give me an advanced tab, to open....
I also tried, mail.live.co.jp and smtp.live.co.jp ..
no luck. I will try again tomorrow...
maybe sleepiness is getting to me !
edit, seem to be able to receive and send now!

via AppleInsider
it seems that since 3.0 firmware, attaching an accessory can also initiate the download of the control APP

Interesting!
I have another perhaps easy question...
How do I download my own ringtones into iTunes? I have fiddled around but have not worked it out yet!
I guess it is easy !
edit - not so easy.. but made one... and now the folder has a ringtone...

If your on a Mac its simple, just drag whichever song you want into Garageband. Cut down the song to 40 secs or under, then just export it to itunes as a ringtone and it'll get automatically added to your ringtones

I did it via iTunes, cuttng a mp3 to 30 seconds or under. Then converting to acc, and then renaming. fiddly but it worked...

There is a topic for favourite iPhone apps, and as favs they are presumably recommended.
If you haven't found it by the time I get home I'll put a link here
edit: ok, here's a start (hope it helps)
Recommended iPhone games

Hi!
How do you find battery life? Do you need to charge everyday?
Thanks!

I always charge my phones every day anyway... always have... but especially on iPhone just so I can get the latest podcasts synched for my daily commute
but... on the 3GS, after a good days use including watching those podcasts for the 2 hours to/from work, phone calls, browsing during the day, the odd text message, downloading the aussie channel 9 sydney news podcast via work wifi as its not available until after I get to work, etc etc... I come home with half battery showing usually

hi masseur,
OK, I seem to have slightly less than that, for battery life, but I know judgements on usage are not so useful!
Downloading TomTom now and it's taking a looooong time!
I will monitor it closely during the next week!

its a 1.4gb download so if you're not on a fast connection it'll take a whlie
it'll take a while to transfer that lot to you phone too
but once done I think tomtom have made a pretty good port to the iPhone though I do find that it can appear a little misleading in pedestrian mode sometimes, until you get used to it
still no sign of the car mount, though I wouldn't want to use a screen this size for primary road use
