I dont envy you having to wait for one. It took long enough for the silver one to come out |

I have ordered a Jabra Freespeak headset. For $97 shipped. It's in stock and I should have it by Monday or Tuesday of next week.
The more I thought about it the less I could justify spending $267 on the BS and waiting another 4-6 weeks to get it when I need a BT headset NOW.
When BS comes out with jawbone, and/or there are US distributors (with product actually in stock) and the price comes down, I will take another look at it. |

RAMS > the silver (original) has been fully launched,..and no, it will not be 2-3 months
No one has the black Bluespoon yet,..but :
its being released NOW,..its called PANTHER
and yes you can order it. Delivery in week 46.
Its silkmatt black all over.
I'll put up an image later
Its very neat,..and the light (LEDS) dont show that much on this particular model.

Cool, I like the sound of this Panther!
We've already got Expansys preorders for both the silver and blue special edition (we're looking to get 2-3 headsets), but the orders were placed earlier this fall so I think we're waaay back in the waiting queue...
C'mon, a lot of us Americans (particular down in Texas) are also excited about BS.. we're under-represented here |

ST63Z > We are working hard on the US-distributing-thing
I believe we will have something ready on Comdex,..maybe even before,..hope so
We really want to release the BS in the US as well,..basically because its a huge market, and also companies like e.g. Microsoft will soon fully support BT,..so there are several reasons for being "over there".
As I've already told in earlier posts, the only real issue, is that we're having a hard time producing enough Bluespoons,...so many orders, that is, of course, a good thing,...but it does make it harder to release BS in many places at once....especially when we unfortunately dont have the production-capacity of the bigger companies.
But as I also said in earlier posts, production is coming along faster now,..increasing day by day....so we're getting there
Regards
Jan

I'd like a full review of the Freespeak when you get it. Where did you order yours from and is $97 the official price?

I will put up a quick review on the Jabra thread when I recieve the unit and have had a chance to evaluate it. I don't want to put it in this thread since it's for the Bluespoon.
I am still interested in a BS and will probably get one when jaw mic comes out.
I got the Jabra Freespeak from a shop off of Ebay, $87 USD and $10 USD for Airborne Ground shipping. |

You can also get the Jabra Freespeak at www.celphoneaccessories.com for $88 plus 3.95 shipping. I should be getting mine on Tuesday |

Oops forgot to check back (since the board doesn't send you an email for new thread replies)...
That's great jm67, just be sure not to advertise it as "BS" over here (as in "What a bunch of BS")
To the other guys, believe it or not, your local Radio Shack (if you're in the US) will start carrying the Jabra Freespeak Nov 1 ($99). The employees are already walking around wearing it. The one I saw was using Jabra's 2.5mm headset adapter companion product that lets you use BT with any non-BT cellular/cordless phones. Unfortunately when I was there I didn't have time to try to pair it with my T68i...
I must say I don't particularly like how the Freespeak looks and wears though -- even my old Motorola BT headset was better I thought (you know, the silver disc with foldable boom, I forget what it's called, but Jabra's also coming out with a model that looks similar).
That said, your local Radio Shack won't hassle you about returning the Freespeak w/in 30 days if you don't like it, as opposed to, say most CompUSA stores(where I'd bought the Motorola for $200) that charges a mandatory 15% restocking fee. |

Can't believe it, Expansys emailed me saying they actually shipped my BS order, the special edition all-blue colored one.
So I went back to their site, only to find out they now also list the all-black, ALL-COOL Panther edition! Man I so want that one (and it says only 5 days ETA for the USA)...
I think I'm going to cancel my other order for the original BS and preorder the Panther instead. |

st63z & baji thanks
i rang up expansys & they gave me some mumbo jumbo about how they got only th "special edition" and the normal one will be in "next week"** so i went ahead and ditched the preorder for the phanthom original & bought the special edition bluey.
baji - ring them up and switch faster than a crook third world politician!
thanks again fellas , i would have missed this , cos of the time zones, & would be sitting on my arse , waiting and ringing up expansys at hours that no man should be awake when he is sober !

Cheers Nim
Unfortunately I like the look of the Original BlueSpoon.
The only thing I know is it is highly unlikely I will ever pre-order anything from expansys again.
Every time you call there is yet another one week delay with no acceptable excuse anymore. Forever telling me the spoon is being delivered next day. Its a joke.
Blah blah blah whinge whinge whinge moan moan moan etc ....

Hi
I have recently recieved my Bluespoon SE from Expansys (Next Day delivery, phoned to check they had them in stock before ordering).
Suffered the initial problems of pairing but have got over that.
Have suffered slight discomfort from the speaker bit in your ear but nothing to worry about and I think it is going.
It appears to be a bit crackley occasionaly when speaking to someone. This might be interferance from my laptop and/or with WiFi card (believe they are 2 different frequencies).
On the whole I am pleased. Slightly anoyed that I cannot use the magic word feature of the SE T68i but I can understand why (only used with Car kit and wired Hands Free). And currently I have set it up to press once on the Bluespoon and can voice control who I call (and whether it is Home, Mobile, Work, Other) via the T68i voice tags or I can call into my Answerphone which has the voice controlled Wildfire service to do the phoning/directing of faxes there.
Works fine in the car, people on the end of the phone are telling me they can hear me, and I can hear them. Put the roof down in the car and that is different prospect altogether. People cannot hear me and I can occasionally hear them. Not sure if this is the Bluespoon noise cancelling circuitry going into overdrive or what.
So I have decided to keep the device, because I see much worse comments about every other bluetooth headset out.
But when this Jawbone version comes out I will be rapidly switching to that if the price is not prohibitive, the battery life is good and the device does not make my ear ache.
My 2 questions are: - Has anyone seen/or is there a car charger that could be used with the Bluespoon charging cradle? And a suitable storage capsule (preferably leather hard case) or pouch to store this expensive device when not being used?
Thanks
Roland
(On the whole pleased with the Bluespoon) |
