hey man, just tried out with my earphones (standard HPM-70) and wtf man, the bass seems to be enhanced and sounds quite good.. changed volumes and theres no cackles.. can anyone verify that the sound quality seems to have improved?!!?
[EDIT] the response of the walkman is awesome.. very much improvement.. try it while playing music, press down on ur playlist.. i got 480 songs so that is freaking good..

Your doing this via the media manager not just playing songs through file manager? The songs work fine through file manager but media manager theres crackles.
without earphones no, with earphones theres no crackle at all when changing volumes, but i notice a bit at the background of the song tho.. but not really noticeable, rather occasional. [ONLY FOR FILE MANAGER]. walkman (aka. media manager)'s perfectly fine. lol. i use 5 bars for my music with earphones btw. sound quality's improved.

hmm.. tried playing inconsolable (wma, 128kbps) with HPM-70 both in walkman (media manager) and file manager.. changing volumes seems to be perfectly fine for me, but i did notice the occasional slight cackle when the song is playing tho.. seems to be isolated to that song only... maybe SE enabled some kind of sharpening that causes some songs to cackle? playing in walkman the song seems to have much more bass and slightly more clarity than file manager and than R1EA033 ahaha.

I've been lurking on this thread since I got my w910i. I think I've been through every generic version of the software so far, and the recurring theme has been the unprompted reboots of the phone.
I've still got that on R1FA030 (just happened. Uptime of about 6 hours!)
I also seem to have a new bug; the most recently used list of contacts that you see when sending a text message is no longer displaying in the correct order. I thought it wasn't updating at all, but the numbers are in the list, but no longer with the most recent number at the top.
Can anyone else confirm this, or is this just a user error (some setting somewhere?)
I'd actually gone back to my K790 for the last week I was so fed up with the w910i, but thought I'd give the new firmware a chance. I'll give it another day... |

When I get the handset (tomorrow now, damn eBay), will I wait to debrand it (as the new firmware isn't out yet on DaVinci) or just unlock and wait until it is released?

hmm yeah.. if i let the screen go off sometimes it'll affect the results. i noticed one thing also.. not every song has cackles.. only some.. hmm.. those with bass are enhanced tho.. but when i press resume it'll pause about 2 secs to load the playlist.. nvr happened before in previous firmwares tho.. other than that no probs, i done the tests just now, 3 times each, posting the results later(:
[EDIT] one thing tho, the speed search in teh walkman still aint fixed.. any letter that u press (from T onwards) will lead to the chinese songs.. lol..
@KopStar
i dont think R1EA033 had much changes, except maybe a bit faster here and there, but i dont think it really did anything much or have any major change. cheers!

@fortuneleon
maybe change a new set at any SE centre? or if u have no choice do a master reset (all phone data will be lost. must backup first) but looking at ur case, i doubt it will work..

A new device might fix the restart issue, but the MRU issue is a new one.
Having looked in more details, it's ALL call and messaging logs, e.g. if I press the green key, no calls are listed that I've made since I updated the firmware.
Would be very interested to see if anyone else has this issue, as this is a MAJOR flaw.

hmm.. all calls? dont seem to happen to me. maybe its a bad set.. from all that ive read about the W910i, it seems to me that SE have some bad quality control.. im thankful that i got a perfect set anyway. lol
[EDIT]crap i cant post any more today so im posting it here. lol.
@0blivion
yeah bro.. finally someone agrees with me about the sound quality.. the megabass doesnt drown out the voice and its still damn clear.. ahaha!
test results are below, 3 tests in succession. screen kept on at all times first one is JBenchmark HD, second one is JBenchmark 3D (all newest versions)

LOL! You'll need to change that signature! I had no problem with the caller lists before I changed the firmware. Luckily I have access to Emma3, so I can just reflash back to a previous version if required.

Hum, that's interesting... just updated from EA033, within 5 min it had restarted ...
For me the volume changing crackle is still there ( though it almost sounds like a click), however the sound Quality has drastically improved. The sound is louder and much clearer that before the update (the family agree). The bass levels have also been enhanced and are much more defined without drowning out the mid tones, and the drop off with the mega-bass at full volume is significantly less the previously. this is the same with both hpm-70 and 75.
Also the back speaker's sound has seemed to improve with its quality =P
tis all good.
Oh and my call logs are fine.
