Ok, here's a question about using my T300 on o2 p+g as a modem via ir for my imac. It's mainly aimed at MASSUER as i did a google search and found a dead topic with your advice in it. I managed to get it to dial up *99***1# (my cid=1) after30 mins of tinkering, But i get gprs request is rejected on the phone. Am i missing any other settings, and what is the gsm dial up number? Anyones help would be good. Please no one put up a use the search icon or i'll stick it up your uknowot, as i'm on wap.

Ok, i expected that one, so i'll let it slide. I've managed to get a connection via gsm using the ericsson ir modem script. But it last for about 2 mins and thats all. Anyone know the settings for gprs? It dials but won't go past starting network protocols. Come on mass, you're on all the time. Help me out dude.

Sorry I can't think of anything from the phone side and have zero experience of imacs. Could be an IR problem rather than a GSM problem. Someone else may have experience of this setup. Sorry.

edit: on the GPRS side you should check the usual things that the data account you are using is the internet one and not the WAP one. Also make sure it has been activated by O2.

Thanks anyway. I've been told you can't use gprs on pay and go. I an enabled, i'm using it now. As for the gsm thing, i'll just have to suffer as it's os8.6 and i can't get to any other software. Oh well.

Are you talking about gprs? If so i have the dns numbers for o2, but it still won't go past starting network protocols.

its unusal to need DNS for internet data accounts.

Just for interest, trying going to a command prompt on your pc/mac and ping the sites you are trying to connect to (i.e. ping www.microsoft.com). If this works then it will show its not a DNS problem. Next try pinging from a normal ISP connection to get the address and when you next connect via T300/O2 trying entering that IP address into your browser instead of the text address. If that works then you probably DO have a DNS problem.

BOSSHOGG, not sure what you mean in other post about trialling internet services but if that is exactly what you want then I think all the major ISPs still have some sort of trial period although you usually need to give a credit card number up front.

Since i have no actual web access i can't use any configurators. Since i'm on mac os 8.6 there is no actual software. But since i'm pretty swift on google wap, i managed to get the dns numbers and find out that i needed to disable tcp header compression. But since i'm on pay and go it's only the o2 site i can use on gprs. Who needs fancy software? Not me, i just needed one number from an old mass post to motivate me to find everything else. Thanks for all the help. Esato has helped me out so many times.

@ masseur: why is it unusual to need dns numbers? Sure thing my phone will NOT work without it........ even tho the configurator did not provide it.

Sorry to come back on the subject of the cover for T310.
In previous messages, we can read that it is impossible to replace the cover of T310.

I found a web site where you can buy cover compatible for T300 and T310 !

http://www.kabiloo.fr/boutique/telephonie/info.php?id=1453&sessionID=&referer=&marque=Ericsson

Sorry it is in french !

I have send a message for confirmation about the compatibility with T310 to them and they have replied very briefly that we can replace a cover for a T310 as a we do for T300 !

I don't believe them.
What do YOU think about it ?

Thanks,

OLI310
