Unfortunately itīs not a suggestion, P1i doesnīt work the way like P990i, P910i, P900i, P800 did. I have owned them all.
Hmm... are you asking for the feature whereby you can press and hold T and then the contacts starting with T will appear? I could press and hold the letters and I'll reach the contacts app, typing the letters out work on my set too.
@defiantbeast: I believed I mentioned it a couple of pages back, but anyway I managed to get All About Symbian's P1i preview video (20+ MB) playing without lag, although Engadget's take on the Honda Asimo North American debut 80+ video file failed. Do a search on this thread yeah?

Thatīs what I am asking for.
It doesnīt matter which button I press and hold, the contacts always start with A.
Do you have your contacts in the phone or SIM?
I have mine in the phone.

Hey guys,
Im new to the forum. I just received my P1 from O2 online today (its charging now!).
I upgraded yesterday and received today, pretty good service - free of charge upgrade too! I will post a few photos up if you want to see it, box etc and if i can figure out how to.
delboylee
welcome to esato! lucky you then to get that quick, i know other o2 customers have been waiting a couple days now.
to post pics, when your reply to a thread, click attach picture, choose the file you want, upload it, then copy the link into your post which is still opened (attach pic opens another page)repeat to add more photos
Ive attached a few photos of my P1 from O2 as i said i would. Havent turned it on yet though as its charging! I did notice O2 branding saying welcome when i put the charger in, the box doesnt appear to have any O2 branding though.
Im looking forward to putting applications etc on it! my first real smartphone (dont really consider the Nokia N80 as one, that was sh*t!!) so this will take a bit of getting used to.
Thanks,
Derrick

basoost - Doesn't look like I'll need to go to Stoke after all, my tracking number now seems to be picking up the right package. I know what you mean about DD's at bad times though, any time's a bad time!
By waiting a couple of weeks you may get a phone with a new firmware too.

..maybe it tries to find an entry beginning with a number?
Question: is there a useful cut&paste function on the p1? Any annoying limits (when pasting) between UIQ programs?

Just sort your contact wiht first name, last name and you can hold T down and go directly to contacts that starts with T or open contacts and write first letter....... |

found this mate, hope it helps...
While the quality of still shots is more than satisfactory, video quality is (at least on the tested prototype unit) somewhat disappointing. It's not worse than in the P990, but one might expect some improvement in a new model... The highest resolution (QVGA, 320x240 pixels) is limited to 15 frames per second while lower resolutions can be recorded at 30 fps. I'm not sure if it results from bitrate restrictions (384 kbps max) or poor codec algorithms but the compression is simply too high and in some cases (large unicoloured areas) it severely blurs the picture or fills the entire frame with awful artefacts. Let's hope that video quality gets improved before the P1 starts shipping.

Heres a question, how many p1i owners out there are in the united states? And if so who is your service provider in the states? I realize that you've probably had the phone a limited time but so far hows it doing on your providers network?
