I've had this problem with Vodafone off and on for years with a variety of phones. It just seems that sometimes SMS messages get stuck in the Vodafone system. |

After my firmware update I noticed that all messages read/unread not bold. In the past I use to have bold for new messages and when it is opened it becomes unbold. How can I get this back again?

It's sad to see that after all these updates , the phone is still struggling .
Meaning , this is still not a phone for business purpouses .
Having to do tricks to change the internal code of the phone itself to be able to update .. very sad .
Sony Ericsson has lost me and 7 other people of my company after having P800 , 900 , 910 phones which we were very happy with . SE did not take its responisibility and we had to sell our phones with a 50% loss each .
I've had the phone from 1st september 06 and up till now it's still worthless to me . Too many upgrades required , too many wipes of the phone , too slow OS and just too many things that don't work right .
We went Blackberry now . I personally took the BB8800 and using it up to it's full strength . Never had an error , never crashed , fast , reliable , just got released and doesn't need updates , yet it's still cheaper than a P990 . Needless to say I am very very happy with it .
Don't let anyone fool you , this P990 toy will only continue driving a lot of non fanboys away from the brand they liked so much in the past .
After this few 1000€ loss (699€ per phone! we sold for 350€ , no one wants to buy this otherwise . ) We are asking our lawyers now if there's something we can do . They've driven us that far , yes .

Sometimes i beleave that it may be the case but if the messages only came out when i restart the phone then allmost for sure its phone fault. I hate when this happen cause sometimes i can miss important things or get delayed about something. The things i can not admit in phones are problems with sms and calls (and i had them both)... afterall they are the primary funccions of a cellphone isnt it? I dont give much importance if the phone want to restart if it goes out of memory or the camara get stuck sometimes but what piss me off is that the phone its too damn slow to restart. Even my nokia 5500 (wich is a Series60 3rd edition) can reboot in less than half time |

I use the blue lines theme and I have noticed that since the update, when I dial numbers they now appear in dark blue rather than yellow, thus making them more difficult to see.
Why on earth would they even consider making such a change, I am going to hit my P990i with a hammer and buy something that is less functional but looks cool like the Nokia 8800 Sirocco. |

guys, i already had my phone updated to R9EC001 but the one i got for my wife is still in R7A. its a phone of bugs..really. i want to update it also but the thing is, at start up, i have SE logo animation, while the one i bought for her has Mobile Assistant screen with blue sky and clouds and all. and on the flip i have the P990i sticker while she has swisscom.. is it also possible to update that phone? or is it locked? needs reply asap since her phone is already connected to my laptop as of the moment ready to click on update.
no matter how wicked it is, i wont use a phone unless it's a sony ericsson!

New PCSuite is out, I'm downloading now (1.3.11). The page still displays the older version number but the link points to the new version.
Could this be an indication of a fw update real soon?
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace  So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

New SEUS updater version is 2.7.4.8
No update for World Generic 1 yet.
P.S. For those who want to use SEUS in flip open mode, the "c" key on the keyboard works.

First impressions about the new PCSuite:
1- It looks the same as the previous version.
2- Update Service button still says "the application has not been installed yet". They could have at least gotten rid of this button
3- File Manager: useless as before
4- Mobile Networking Wizard works with USB but can't find the phone using Bluetooth even though PCSuite had no problem connecting and m-Router monitors the Bluetooth port..
5- Backup looks the same as before. However, even after the backup is finished (the phone has to reboot for the backup) the phone remains in the backup state... or so it says on the screen. You have to unplug the USB cable for the phone to reboot to normal mode.
We'll see if the Restore is any better than before after the fw update.
6- There are two visible difference (or should I say audible), one is that some voice feedback has been added. It confirms connection and such.
Now PCSuite detects whether the phone is connected in "Phone" mode or "File Transfer" mode and the horizontal bar that used to turn green now turns green for "Phone" mode and "Orange" for "File Transfer mode.
The icons at the top mode have a green frame indicating that they are only active in "Phone" mode whereas the icons at the bottom have orange frames.
To sum it up, unless the backup/restore section got a serious workover this update to the PCSuite looks like a cosmetic update and as such is a waste of time and certainly does not satisfy any of our complaints.
It's not worse than the older one though and perhaps the backup/restore section has been revised - I hope we'll soon find out

i have no problems at all with the new pc suit i did a backup and use all functions and use my p990i as modem and i surfed the web with my p990i as a client via bluetooth and everything went perfect..
