What music??  Why does it seem to be that Windows Mobile 7/7.5 is so much smoother & lag free compared to Android??

OS wise I think MeeGo is the best now. But not always the best one wins. Everyone bought vhs video while betamax was much better. That was even used in studio's

Gosh Beta Max that was made by Sony/Phillips I think. Sony/Phillips also invented the CD!! Meego on the N9 is super slick & beautiful!! Why nobody wants to take it on for developing apps & stuff is a shame. But from what I hear Android apps will be able to be used on Meego. Do you remember laser disc the huge disc player that came after VHS but before HD??

Well, with WP7 (7.5) Microsoft has been very strict about the hardware and they don't allow manufacturers to use their own "shell", they can add something of their own, but they're not allowed to leave things out or change them.
Android otoh has to deal with so many different kinds of hard- and software, from cheap to high-end devices, so its not strange it lags or hangs sometimes.
And yes, looking at my trusty N900, I'm sure MeeGo is the best OS, but it can't be very succesful, when it's only available in a few countries, which is a shame. Of course some online shops will import it, but here in NL aswell in the UK, people usually take expensive phones with a contract and the networks don't offer the N9.

Didn't samsung buy MeeGo? They'll bring some phones with it but won't make it better.

No, Samsung didn't buy MeeGo, afaik. They already have Android, WP7 and their own Bada, I don't think, they'll need a fourth OS.
After Nokia left, the main partner in the MeeGo Project was Intel, there were rumours, they might use it for a tablet, and there were others, like LG, which had plans to produce a phone with MeeGo, but I don't see, how they'd improve it.
But the latest I've heard, is that Samsung is working together with Intel at MeeGo's html5-based successor : Tizen, which might replace Bada aswell.

You still have time, before renewing your contract, so you'd certainly sleep over it and try to see the phones you like in real live, sometimes pictures don't tell everything, this works both ways, some phones might be disappointing when seen in reality, while others look and feel better in your hands, than on pics.
Also try to have a play with working phones, no dummies, as I've said before, MediaMarkt and Saturn are good for that, in fact, that's the only thing they're good for, imo

Damn it i cannot sleep for the pain in my knee even when lying down  Its so painful. Hans you will see many Androids and Windows in your sleep. Beat off the Androids.
