I am still around.Somehow,my exams timetable gave me a busy (last) week.Still have 1 to go.
amby, egunje & AYA,you answered eskay very well.I just want to add this quote from G B Shaw(1894)"the poor do what(vice) they do for survival while the wealthy do it for greed"
Chelsea lost 0-3 to Boro, serves them right.

@all: Eskay PMed me to explain his post, and I feel I was simply too hard with my response. I apologised to him and made peace |

@amby: Not much, but he did at least make an effort to put things right. Here's an extract from his PM: ----- As a rule i dont judge a person as a nationality but as an individual , so what i said is based on the volume of the spam email i get daily that originates from Nigeria. My remark was not meant to offend you or others in anyway. This was just a comment. My name is Scott Kioskew and i am a web master in Poland. --- That counts for something, I believe. I think he's okay. He didn't quite put his words right in the post he made on PNF, but he's okay. |

If he's cool then we aight..
But seriously, something needs to be done about those guys sending random scam mails allover, I also receive so many of them and I'm just worried about the bad rep it's causing us. I really wish something could be done about it. |

@mamba: I very often wish the same.. But the last I checked, there's no solution yet to that. It sure is a bad image it presents.
My way of counteracting that is to interact and conduct business as much as possible with non-Nigerians. At least they have one reference of a decent, honest, and intelligent Nigerian.
PS: I used to be known as AYA |

@mikky: I doubt that is possible, because I've tried tried it and discovered the RSS feature on esato only delivers news and not new posts made on discussion forums.
@Aya: just read ur review of the Nokia 9500. Kudos on a super work done there, but couldn't help but notice its almost a year old. I'd love to read your review of the P990 when it hits our shores.
The 9500 is everything I need in a mobile device, but my only grouse with it is the form factor. I use my fone for a lot of voice calls as well as data and messaging. The fone mode as you rightly pointed out is not convenient to use. I'd also love to have a good camera on my fone, because in my line of business, a camera comes in useful every now and then. I have pondered with the idea of a P910i and the 9300i. The flip keypad in the former and lack of camera in the latter ruled them out.
I thought I had found my fone in the M600i, touch screen, 3G smartphone with 80mb internal memory, M2 memory card expandable to 1Gb, Opera 8 full HTML browser, UIQ3, embedded full qwerty keypad, mp3, full MS office functionality, etc.
Imagine my disappointment when this phone was announced last month, and wait for it........
No camera, no radio
I could understand the absence of a radio , but no camera???
The wait continues.

Slightly off-topic.... Happy Valentine y'all.
I am currently burning money on Glo GPRS. Vmobile GPRS not available at my home or office. I have a feeling we may still enjoy freebies on MTN GPRS again. They just have not covered Naija yet. |

@amby: I tire for you. There's no perfect device. Me, I always follow the rule "FUNCTIONALITY BEFORE FORM". So, if a device delivers on the featurs and functions I need, I can deal with whatever its form.
In my experience, the 9500 has never been too big for me. And, yes, the camera does a very good job, nothwithstanding that its not mega-pixel.
Unless my 9500 dies, i have no motivation to change it yet - and for some time to come. i found my ideal device and I'm loving it.
I was at zinox office, Gbagada today and my 9500 shows a Wi-fi presence icon. trust me; I attempt to connect but find out thie network requires a WEP key and data. I fiddle with it for 5 seconds and I'm browsing free on Zinox's WLAN network! And you people wonder why I love my 9500! |

Aya, as you already know, one other factor hindering my acquiring a 9500, is that my Oga uses one too. I remember telling you about the "Jeep issue" and you recommended I wait for the 9300i Instead. No, the 9500 is definitely out.
Mikky money no dey o, even the 9500 you recommend will not be less than 85k. Any new except the P990 will hit the market at sub 70k |

@amby: I sympathise with you in that position, really. Me, I can't stand all those complexes bosses have, so I chose to work for nobody (and I'm not suggesting anything). I got to be my own boss. I can drive ANYTHING. Use ANYTHING, and at ANYTIME. If any of my clients are not happy with that, they may very well take a dive in the Lagos Lagoon My wife tells me I wouldn't last as an employee. |
