try this for SUPER FAST MENU RESPONSE:

1. Reboot your phone
2. Flip down to full screen mode
3. tap on the "up arrow" tab on bottom left hand corner of LCD screen. Then tap on any of its menus. Take note of the "speed" of opening these menus.
4. Tap on the large "Main Menu" icon (2nd icon on the bottom left of LCD screen). Take note of the animated transition effects. Also take note of the "speed" of this effect.
5. Now, go to Media Player and start the Video player. Playback a video file, perhaps the demo if you have not encoded any videos.
6. Now go back to the main screen and test out step 2 - 4 again...

you can skip 3 and 4.

Hi,

Finally, I got hand on a P990i last night. Pretty difficult to get it in Mumbai at this point of time. Really impressed with the my new toy.

But Have a problem, whenever I try to switch the camera either by rotating the lense or pressing the camera button on the side, the phone just hangs.

Am i doing something wrong or has anybody faced a similar problem.

Is there a way to turn off the icons in flip closed mode - i'd like to just see my background picture rather than the envelope/calander icons in front of it?

Yes. With flip closed, press "More." Then scroll and click on "Shortcuts." Then remove the checkmark from the box next to "Display shortcut indicator." Hope this helps.

Just an update: As far as I know Vodafone UK will be releasing the P990 on the 11th not the 8th. The pricing I said before have now definately been confirmed with this months magazine of a box only price of £400 (or £380 when bought with £20 topup). And lastly as far as I knew the P990 will not be Vodafone Live! but I'll try and find out more Not long to go now...
