Maybe Lenovo knows something we don't  Not sure whether to take from that that SD855/5G will be launching soon (IFA), and they will just be like a day before Sony for example, or means won't be any till December or next year, which rules out XZ3 (assuming Lenovo are correct and not just creating false hype). I don't think Lenovo released any smartphones at last eyar's IFA, so maybe the latter... |

User has an avatar of a Penguin. I have no idea if is reliable person.
Translation is:
" the new Xperia with SDM1855-5G will be specifically disclosed to some media, but not announced. I am not sure how to call this device. Maybe xperia xz4, xz3 premium, even xz3, if it is the last one that will be publicly announced in IFA (or before) the device will be similar to "xz2s". |

Sony is currently hurting it's loyal fan base.
Why can't they make a phone that everyone wants?
Why should the phone be so heavy?
Why cant they stick to smaller cameras and improved outputs like other successful oems?
Removing 3.5mm jack and making a thick and heavy phone with battery capacity not justifying the size..
I dont know what they are up to

Because this " dream phone" would have much higher price of factory costs.
Then they would charge much more.
Ppl would not pay.

It is impossible for them to make the camera small. EIS and digital zoom require extra pixels.
Heavy is just because of the thick glass panels I guess.
I imagine that they make a dual camera with XZP design. It doesn't look good. Now is better.
@Moe, maybe we will see it happened on the anniversary phone

Why would it have higher price? Sony already charges a lot for their phones (and ridiculous price for accompanying accessories).
Other companies can make better designed devices (smaller, thinner, lighter, smaller bezels, larger displays) with equal or better cameras, for a similar price (Google, Samsung, Huawei, Apple, even now companies like Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo). Even OnePlus to a degree for much lower price.
Sony just need to get their act together and stop wasting time and money implementing gimmicks (like 3d selfie, but no 3d face unlock?, or big vibration engine so that it vibrates while you're listening to music... I mean come on, who cares about that  ) |

everyone expect very differentiate product yet keep calling for very same thin bezel, oh how funny
everyone expect very hefty battery yet keep calling for very thin and light-weight device, Note 7 suddenly forget?
smartphone sales globally tend to have lower sales this year
and only few company can breakaway with either genuinely good or lying marketing under the bus
why don't call out to HTC LG Lenevo in same context even Samsung also suffering GS9 lower sales
don't these guys above has dream spec of thinner bezel lightweight design yet suffering in sales.... stupid troll

LG, HTC all are quality problem.
LG quality is trash, remember V10, G4 ? Burn motherboard.
HTC quality is way worst than LG, look at U12+ button.
Lenovo is just another Chinese bramd hiding under Moto. Even their notebook is bad.
More important is they already have kinda good design for the majority. And they LG, HTC already kind of give up. LG got display pannel. Htc got VR.

I think most people here and like myself are one or two major issues away from buying the XZ2 phones. Some people say the thickness, some the bezels, some the audio jack, some say dual camera and so on. Factually, the single camera is great and the dual camera even better and you could argue all day that its only a few mm thicker while bezels are getting smaller but the burning fact is that some of these things are major turn offs even for Sony fans. 4M to 2M sales is a huge drop regardless of the market.
Its not even about HTC, LG either, we are all waiting for a bit more that what we got this year. Honestly, I will probably buy the XZ3 if it looks like the render regardless of single or dual camera or buy a heavily discounted XZ2 Compact as a short term fix. Sony dropped the ball on certain things one being the audio jack, that really burns as it would be absolutely nothing for them to add one.
As Sony customers we always whine about everything but we will still buy however, this time is different even in this forum where people are not impressed and that is reflected in the sales. Look at how all the reviews for the XZ2P are great but it gets slaughtered for its design and rightly so, not far off from being the phone of the year but they messed it up. |

You mean PlayStation VR?
HTC VIVO is a compete standalone system. They target it to business market now. So, it different.
LGD is a standalone company.
**Don't forget there are a huge group of Anti-Sony people out there.
