My new replacement if blooming lovely now. Debranded it and set it up how I like it. Everything works great, the phone definitely feels more solid than the other two I had. When it is closed the only thing that moves (hardly) is the lens cover, but overall it is really nice to hold and to use. When it is open, there's an ever so slight left/right movement but the opening action is good. All the buttons light up as they should and give a satisfying and equal 'click'.

Everything about this handset feels better then the two I returned, I'm glad I stuck with my guns till I got satisfaction.

I put a new screen protector on it as soon as I took the SE plastic off the screen. It works very well and does not interfere with the vibrancy in anyway.
The silicon case is a funny thing though, it adds about 4mm on both sides!!!
Another reason I'm not fond of sliders. But this one is so functional and with everything working as it should, I've never been happier with a phone.

I'm glad to hear it pays off to be determined and find the energy to return lemons to get what you actually paid for. I for myself have not found that energy, also I work long hours now including weekends. Still hanging on to my somewhat wobbly slider and lens cover. Mine would be a repair case anyway, no way here to change a month old phone for a new unit.

What I meant to ask you anyway was where you purchased that screen protector. I can really see the need for that.

By the way, judging by the esato members it seems most of the Shiho's have some wobble in the slider, so who knows how much one would gain from changing to a new unit. There seems to be really firm lens covers around though.

Hi.
The screen protector came with a bundle of things I bought from eBay for my c905. I still have the packaging at home so when I get back I'll give you the details. Probably this time tomorrow.
I know some screen protectors are bad so I will recommend this one as it looks great on my phone, you don't even notice its there but it is

It's a shame you cannot replace yours easily now.

If Orange were offering me the X1 I would have it in a flash!
But they are only offering the c905 so bah.

My opinion is divided, the c905 is a great phone and has great functions.
The x1's camera is aright.. especially for video recording which is something I like a lot. But the best thing about the x1 is the OS, totally unrestricted fun.
I keep on finding programs I want on my phone but they are only symbian/windowsmobile. So I am stuck waiting for decent j2me apps to come out, some to never come. Maybe flashlite will take off, I don't know.

Anyway I would chose the x1, they are amazing bits of kit. Solid and multipurpose!

Have you tried calling the disconnections department (known internally as retentions) and threatening to leave? Point out that you can get the X1 for free or almost free for on another network. I suppose that depends on how much you pay monthly though.

Exim SPUC (the Japanese made one) is the ultimate screen protector, just make sure it is SPUC (made in Japan) and not SPOC (made in Taiwan) the difference is pretty big.

Hiya! I should hopefully have this phone by next week.

Just a question about the WiFi. Will i need to pay for a WiFi account or will it be free to browse the internet like i do in my iPod Touch?

Any help would be appreciated.

WiFi is a wireless network, if it is open you can browse it for free just like on your iPod touch.

I was atually in the same dilemma, but now i've decided to go for C905, and the most important thing for me, when deciding, was the UI, and the camera of course

I got my C905 back from repair for the earpiece.

They also fixed the slider. A big difference before it wobbled now it's firm so seems it was a fault with the handset ones that have a wobble. It must have got tightened because it's firm now.

Good to know it's fixable. I'm sending my handset just because of that (and because they oh-so-conveniently didn't notice it was branded when they sent it to me).
