K750 / W800 Firmware Overview |

To all experiencing errors updating firmware - be persistent! I attempted to update my phone last night and it took maybe 6 attempts before the thing would follow through with an update.
Many times SEUSII would hang or produce an error on 'identifying phone', or after the phone was identified, or when I should release the C button.
Keep taking that battery out, putting it back in, and starting over!
And for those having issues with the phone turning on while holding down the C button…
Ensure you have the USB drivers installed on your PC. I think they're located in the 'drivers' folder in the installation directory of SEUSII, but can also be downloaded separately from the SE website.
I think for real problem cases (when the USB drivers didn't want to install), the best solution was (prior to running SEUSII or DaVinci):
(i) to have the Windows Device Manager open, do the whole, 'remove sim and re-attach battery thing),
(ii) hold down the C button and attach the phone to your computer (keep holding down the C button - so maybe use your left hand ). An unknown device (or K750i with a question mark) should appear in the device list,
(iii) Immediately right click on that icon and go properties. When the icon disappears, you still have the dialogue box open, suitable for manually specifying the location of the USB drivers.
And an additional piece of trivia: After I started my phone on the update process, I suddenly realised - only 42% battery remained! Ahh! But it was too late to unplug the phone.
Would you believe it came out ok - with a cool 0% battery remaining. I wouldn't want to see a repeat of this, as it could properly ruin the phone, but rest safe in the knowledge that at has been done on a low battery level at least once!
Furthermore – I noticed that the phone prompts to add contact birthday information to the calendar as a recurrent event. This hasn’t always been the case has it? I’ve never tried it before now, but did see that Eldar made quite a note about the K800i’s ability to do this…
Rather big post: over and out!

The only thing i can think to try is to try the updater again, but when it comes up saying no update available, try clicking "continue anyway". This will attempt to reflash the phone with the current firmware again, my guess is that the updater has updated the part of the firmware with the revision no in it before crashing out, therefore when you try again it thinks you already have the latest f/ware. if you don't get this option then try updating update service to 2.6.3.3. Good Luck..

where do i get version 2.6.3.3 ? Is this version compatible with where I am located in the Philippines?
I tried going back to the site and when I now click on the Philippine site to get a fresh copy of the SEUS updater I get an error on the webpage that the page does not exist!
I'm just getting all the more frustrated by this. My phone was in good condition before I attempted this update and now it simply won't switch on. I hope it's just a battery problem but I just fully charged my battery last night. Too bad I don't have my charger with me now I'm at the office.

From here at the office because we have a superfast broadband connection.
I'm an I.T. Tech support system person so I know what I am doing?
It just pissess me off that after I had carefully done this then now my phone won't go on. Read my original post regarding this problem of mine and you'll see what I mean.
I feel like crying 'coz my expensive phone won't go on and I'm expecting a lot of client calls today and I don't have my charger with me now 'coz I fully charged the battery last night! CRAZY!!!

I had this phone updated the first time I purchased this from the SE dealer in SM North Mall. The firmware was updated to the latest that time = R1N035. This originally had China in the engineering menu as far as my memory can remember.
Damn updater!

It's a shame we have to find workarounds for this program not always working the way it should!
One other piece of trivia that I forgot to mention from my last update, was that prior to running this latest update through SEUSII, my previous firmware upgrade was done through DaVinci.
I made sure I downloaded a different region of the firmware (EU_1) so that there would be no shutter sound, and when I just updated through SEUSII, it detected this region and updated in accordance to it! So I still have no shutter sound, even after an update through SEUSII.
Maybe all SEUSII can detect is if the phone actually has a different phone's firmware on it (W800i - K750i), but not differing regions? Hmm!

@jason
same thing with my phone... with R1N (EU2) i got it from an update via DVT (original FW: CHINA/ZN R1L). but when SEUS came about i tried updating to it then it detected my phone as EU2. funny, good it works so i was updated to R1AA. then again this one R1BC it worked again.. all updates with no glitch. (except for the first try with SEUS1, an update to R1N thats why i went to DVT as a resort).
@manilabynight
funny thing man... it wouldnt go dead as a brick. hopefully youll get to try again and again... my phone back then was a bit like that... tho my resort that time was davinciteam.com but i would strongly suggest your discretion with regards to this matter. do everything even goin to SE service centers and try to see what they can do. is it still under warrannty?

Yeah it's still under warranty and I know the SE guys will fix this but hey it is really strange why the SEUS site would f**k up my phone when in the very first place it had only undergone one update and this was done by the official SE crew.
So I can't figure out why the SEUS would do this to my phone since it never got updated by third party methods like DVT and only thru authorized SE centers.
Just a waste of my time now to go all the way to the shop when updating it myself would have been more convenient since my office has the internet technology to accomplish this.

@yrelease - Perhaps make sure you have the latest version of Shockwave flash correctly installed in addition to SEUSII? |

hi all,
tried to updated my f/w from r1n035 to the r1bc002
but towards the end of the update from SESU, it tells me error updating.
The wierd thing is that after checking the f/w on my phone, its r1bc002!!! with camera cxc 125 932 r1e?? (R1AA008 version)
and customization of r1n035 apac_1
well the phone works well as of now... have not actually tried it thoroughly. is this normal??

Why are you officially mad ?
If it tells you no updates is available, then there are simply no updates available. Theres nothing wrong with neither seus, your installation or the way you do it, but your mobile network operator simply has not yet approved the firmware update, hence its not available to you yet. You just have to be patient and try again in a couple of days.
