i bought him when he was just as big as a Zippo....

Yes I'm sure it's illegal but they are easily found at the traditional street market in my country especialy in my city. They cost only 1$ each. I bought 10 of 'em but last month i made a mistake by replacing my aquarium with a tap water without waiting for a night for the chemical to vapor and sadly 9 of them can't stand the chemical (yes, my country sucks in this issue, it should be safe drinking from tap water right? but NOT IN INDONESIA!!!)
You know what??
I also ate some of them hi hi...
Not raw off course, i clean it and cook it with some traditional Indonesian Herb
They taste good but their bone is VERY VERY HARD

OMG, looks scary even when it's dead.
Don't let the one escape through the water conduit please, cause after traveling our city sewers, it might end up appear in my closet bowl (or died first). 
BTW.. is it 10k rupiahs for real?? Where can I get them?

Go to Pagarsih, It's on the right just at the end of the Pagarsih street before the road split (if you came from Astana Anyar) .
