I am sure the dead earpiece thingy will get settles in the subsequent batches. |

My C905 earpiece was BROKEN in all of a sudden, without reason, 10 days after the purchase.
I must send that stupid phone for a repair.
Here in Malang, Indonesia, they can't fix it. They sent mine to Surabaya, the capital city of my province, for another foolish 6 week-long waiting. It may be longer.
I believe the phone will likely be sent to Jakarta, the country's capital, which means another 3 month-long waiting for such an expensive crap by SE stupid engineers.
I used to be a faithful SE lover. Esato knows it for heaven sake.
But that's enough.
Too many problems with SE lately.
I am very disappointed with SE. |

My C905 has been in a service centre for almost 2 weeks awaiting a part coming in well so they say.
Seems like it will never be coming back. Very disappointed I waited for this phone since July and when it finally hit the shops after a months delay they still couldn't get it right.
You would think something like the earpiece fault would be picked up early in prototypes but it seems almost as widespread as the touch screen pad going on the K850i. I know people with later models which seem fine. |

aremaboy is one of the locals that I mentioned on my previous post. But yeah it does make me a bit paranoid. Because aftersales service is a real issue in my country.

I guess I've now got an explanation to why I can't stream over WiFi (3G works fine).
From SE support:
"Telefonen kan endast streama via RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) som används på bland annat m.youtube.com . För att detta ska fungera att streama via en router måste routern i fråga ha stöd för detta protokoll för att det ska fungera."
And in English:
"The phone can only stream via RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol), which is used e.g. at m.youtube.com. To have the possibility to stream via a router, the router must have support for this protocol to make it work."
Update: I've now tested on another router that supports RTSP and it works great. Problem solved! Yay! |

Wow, lot's of complaints on C905, how come, is it crap or what's going on?
First batch is never rock solid imo!
But i have a question, i'm currently using a W902, and i have a application called walkmate, is this program in C905 bundled, or is it any way you can download it from SE?
Also i miss the mini golf game that was in K800, anyone?
Thanks in advance guys!

Well my third handset arrived today.
Each one I've had has had different amounts of wobble, unfortunately for me the first one was the tightest and even had no scratches appearing. The leds decided to break instead. The second slider was okay then it got worse over a week, it was not bad though. The camera slider was slightly wobbly too. The third I have today is as wobbly as the second was after a week, but the camera slider is firmer. This third one has the problem I returned the second one for (pressing the buttons causes the screen to distort ever so slightly) but not anywhere as bad.
Apart from these manufacturing faults. The debranded firmware has been flawless. Everything works great and there are some surprising little flourishes that impress me hugely over the k810i I had. The SE OS has always impressed me, hence why even though I am techy, I have still not gone for a symbian/smartphone mobile.
I too noticed last night on a picture I took with the red-eye flash on that both the people in the picture had red-eye. I have no idea what that's about and if it can be fixed. Major flaw if it is a permanent feature of a flagship cameraphone.
Anyway I'm keeping this one, unless (touches wood) something goes terribly wrong!

Is it safe to conclude that most of the defective C905s are found in the UK?

Well I thought that since C905s in UK should be of the first batches, then it would be very likely that they contain a lot of the initial batch defects; and the broken ones in other countries may also come from this batch.

I can see your logic.
I just texted my brother who works in Carphone Warehouse and he says the C905 has been selling really well with Zero returns, which sounds encouraging.

The C905 is not yet available in most official stores in my country, and my theory is the dead earpiece C905s in Indonesia are actually resells from the initial UK batch. In fact, my country's C905s seem to show very similar symptoms to the British ones...
