So essentially it's the same thing that LG used in G2 last year. |

I sure hope it is not. I have been using the LG G2 as a work phone for the last 6 months and it is terrible. Every time I unlock the phone half of the folders on the home screen are gone and it takes several seconds for them to appear.

@itsjustJOH: Thx. So can we assume that the Z3TC also makes use of this...

Sony made two very good decisions on Sony Z3C: 1) Did not increase the resolution; 2) Did not reduce the thickness. Both of which lead to a better battery life. If they are claiming that Z3 lasts 2 days, I guess Z3C could easily outmatch it. I planned to wait until February for the price to come down a bit, but I am so eager to buy it. Clove already put their prices and expect the phones by the end of September.

The worst of Sony in a never-ending bezel.

This is the low-end E3. Why don't you look at Z3 and Z3c? |

Z3 Tablet Compact looks nice. Really don't need one but if it's a good price I may not be able to resist.
I like that the naming scheme has finally some semblance of consistency.
Not sure I will buy Z3 itself, may just go for Z4, but the gamble that the bezels will grow between Z3 and Z4
is one I'm not certain I'm ready for.
Yes, you can skip Z3 to go for Z4 because the latter one is a revolutionary product.
A bit more of hint wud be welcome on Z4 ! |

What exactly do you mean by "revolutionary"?
On the day you see it, you would understand me well. |

Do Z3 variants come with a special coating on the glass in order to avoid fingerprints? |

Nope that's only on the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. |

Z3C is my personal Sony IFA "highlight". Nice compact design and a 2600mAh battery in that small housing. But SD801 and especially 16GB ROM is a letdown and the reason why I won't buy it on day one. I'll wait and watch how the price will develop in the coming month. If it take the same route as Z1C then I would consider to buy it in Q1/2015 (25% off).
Just one question to the insiders: Z4 is expected for MWC time, but what about Z4 Compact? Will it get a successor twice a year or will the it remain once a year? Any info on that? thx. |

I know I missed the event
I loved Z3, but I'm still waiting for Z4
The only sad fact for me is the 16GB internal ( thought I heard that the T-Mobile version will have 32GB )...
I really hope Z4 will come with minimum 32GB internal + 64GB optional...

Just my common sense, only the main flag get updated every half a year. rest of the devices get updated every one year. otherwise it would be ridiculous. sony wouldn't be able to afford it. safe bet.
^^^ i was expecting 1 or 2 more surprises of: two tone led flash/usb 3.1 type c/built in wireless charging/ir remote/32gb built in storage as standard, 3 microphones - hd voice, upgraded front facing camera.
let's hope sony start implementing these features for the next wave of devices as they are becoming a standard and for sony to stay competitive as they are now.
overall, all devices look promising but z3c is the most unique sony device no doubt. its a good time to buy a compact flag. personally i would love to say the same for phablets. i would love to say, "sony, shut up and take my money!" i would buy the z ultra but its a bit to big for my taste even though i'm 6"4' and it does not have the full flag features. MWC it is. |

There is no Z4 compact. Next compact generation is coming in one year. |
