@drprat....you might want to install something called "Cabirfix" or "Spybot- Search and Destroy" as an anti-virus solution..

I have a major problem. Please help me, I'm desperate...

My Nokia 9500 worked perfectmy until last week...

I had to reinstall PC Suite 6.6 on my Xp pro SP 2.

As advised by the Nokia Careline, this is what I did:

1. deconnect DKU-2 from computer
2. deconnect 9500 from DKU-2
3. restart computer
4. uninstall PC Suite and Cable driver
5. restart computer
6. clean registry (also with Nokia Registry Cleaner)
7. download PC Suite from Nokia website
8. disable all virus-, spyware- en adawaredetectors + firewall
9. install PC Suite (without paring -> As they have told me at Nokia Careline)
10. restart computer and check if firewall and other programs are still disabled (they are)
11. start pc suite
12. press "make connection" in right corner
13. when it asks to put 9500 and DKU-2 in computer: connect 9500 to DKU-2 and then connect DKU-2 in USB (at the back of computer)
But nothings happen.

So when I click on the Nokia Connection manager-icon in PC suite I get a nasty message: "Connection to PC Suite failed. Please reinstall Nokia PC Suite. Init SL MC2 notify."

This problem occurs each time when I click on the icon of the Nokia Connection manager in Nokia PC Suite 6.6
So I reinstalled the program on and on, rebooted the phone several times and connected with and without cradle.

Nokia Careline couldn't help me... I'm desperate. Please help me...

dude that royaly sucks! You may get better help in the 9500 users look here forum here on this site.

Step 13 seems wrong. Always connect the cable to the computer before the phone! Make sure that first you powercycle the phone first! Off then on. Then pass the sim lock and phone lock screens to get to your phones desktop. Make sure those apps are not on or running either. WindowsXP firewall shouldnt matter either. Hope this helps but more help in other thread im sure. Can anyone help this mate out?

Thx for the help mate, but it doesn't help.
I think the problem is really related to the installation of PC suite (in particular to Nokia Phone Manager) because:

1. whatever I do the Nokia Phone Manager always gives the same message: "Connection to PC Suite failed. Please reinstall Nokia PC Suite. Init SL MC2 notify." Nokia Phone manager doesn't start. This happens each time (even when I click on the Phone Manager icon after step 9 -> when paring is not even asked, and no phone or cable is connected).

2. when I connect my 9500 and the DKU-2 to my computer, I see on my screen that my computer has found new hardware. This icon dissapears after a while, but nothing changes. -> My computer detects my 9500... so the problem is really related to the installation of PC suite 6.6 or to my computer.

I have tried to install Pc suite on another computer and it works! But this doesn't help me:
I've tried it on my computer at home, but a want to be able to use my nokia at work, as i didn't during the last months.

This thing makes me sick... I use my nokia for professional reasons, and got it for this reason, and need it foor this reason. My agenda is a mess now, I can't synchronize between Outlook and my phone, neither between my phonebook and my contacts in Outlook. I'm getting crazy...

@celltech, nice photo but no Symbian I dont want it.

@baptiste. If your trying to connect the 9500 via Bluetooth to WinXP and you get that error msg, make sure that your using the drivers of your BT adapter that came with it; if its a chipset that is imbedded into your laptop, try installing WidComm drivers as their the best and most universally used that actually work. Windows XP's BT drivers absolutely suck.

Now you did mention that the Phone Manager App in PC Suite does recognize your computers USB connection - you didnt give details if Phone Manager CAN actually use that connection to sync with MS Outlook or not - not sure if Web Outlook or Corporate Edition will work with PC Suite or Exchange Server directly either - but try it if you havent already before you get this message & before trying to connect with BT adapter.

Am I on the right track with this issue? Not sure if you can isolate this directly with PC Suite just yet, Also download PC Suite 6.6 from Nokia's site if not done so already & also try on another computer with WinXP SP2 at say the computer store just to reference another error or same error msg. That will rule out WinXP as being the instigator - scientific method remember grade 9 hehe, jk but hinting.

windows 98 and PC suite 6.6 never worked when I tried it out, youre should have the OS upgraded.

Thanks mate for your help, but I have to give you some precisions:

I'm not trying to make connection through BT but with the DKU-2, which was included with my 9500. No drivers have to be installed separately. The drivers are included and are installed with the PC Suite 6.6.

Nokia Phone Manager doe not recognize my phone or what else. Nokia Phone manager simply doesn't work. Each time when I start PM I get the same message it doesn't function.
So PC suite and PM do ot recognize the phone becaus e of the problems with PM.

But when I connect my phone with the dku2 and the pc, I see next to the clock of my computer an icon that says that my pc has found my 9500, but has to be installed.

I tried it on another computer, with XP pro SP 2 and it works. i've downloaded it each time from the official nokia website from belgium.

ah, i see @baptiste. Cannot beleive i missed this before. Have you installed - but yet uninstalled - an app like Palm sync or blackberry sync on your computer that also syncs with outlook? If so then drivers would conflict. If not then i have no idea what is going on wrong. Again just trying to help. Take a look at what different apps on the other winxp machine has compared to yours. Some thing is very different.

I appreciate your help Prom1, thank you.
There have been no other apps installed on this computer. Only this nokia 9500, untill last week.

Because the fact that I'm sure that my 9500, DKU-2 and PC Suite 6.6 are 100% ok (it worked until last week, and it works on my computer at home), and no one can help me (despite all your efforts ) I think I only have one possibility left: FORMAT C and let reinstall my computer by the IT-service here at work. They will be happy
