I have the (latest) R3K firmware and I've noticed an odd little bug:
When locking the keypad the screen dims, then the light turns off completely and a few seconds later the screen itself turns off. The bug is that the slider on the side of the phone does not unlock the keypad during the time when the screen light is off but the screen is still on. It is necessary to activate the slider twice, once to turn the screen light back on and again to unlock the keypad. At all other times the slider works as expected.
Anyone else notice this issue? And if not what firmware are you using? Is there an official way to report firmware bugs to SE? |

Yeah...
I noticed something was wrong, but never tried to reproduce it consistently.

The unlock slider action must be linked to the same sequence whereby if you are in the middle of something eg texting, and the light goes off, then the next time you touch a button on the handset first of all brings the light back on again before doing anything else. I wouldn't exactly call it a bug, just a minor improvement.
After the light goes off, instead of touching the slider button to unlock, if you touch any other button instead you get the same effect.

Not really. If the slider is activated after the light *and* screen have turned off it does lock/unlock the keypad. It is only in the period when the light is off but the screen is still on that the behaviour described above is exhibited. |

Let me be more specific.
Define more stable please. Why is this version more stable over the other version?

I am not sure that is an issue... everytime the light goes off, you have to press a key twice for it to do what it is supposed to do. Say you are in the middle of something like deleting files and the light goes off - you can safely press C to switch the light back on and then C again to delete the file. This is just an example but it applies to all functions of the phone including the locking/unlocking. I don't mind this behavior and it has come in handy more than once. I am using R3K firmware too. |
