IMO, it can only be solve if they improved the fast port to eliminate these kinds of problems.. but the question is HOW??? |

Micro USB would be nice, but it doesn't solve all port problems. Headsets and headphones as far as I know can't use USB port, as this is a digital port.
..isn't this (USB mini/micro) what Motorola uses in their phones? I seem to remember that my RAZRv3 had this kind of port - and this was the port my handsfree was using...
(Still, the -problem- was that the charger used the same port/plug, and Motorola didn't have the skills (i.e. like ) to "open" the charger plug so that I could both charge -and- talk at the same time. Damn annoying.) |

Believing all the speculation...
If this new phone with integrated GPS and all the promised stuff is out in June/July 2008, stable and without major bugs ... the question is:
--> WHO is going to dump the P1 for it ??

I love my p1i , i will never give this baby up. I read on the forums about uptime on p1i. To tell the truth my p1 has been on for atleast 2 months without crashing/freezing etc.. Im not sure why you guys are having problems. To be honest i was suprised when someone mentioned that you have to reboot the p1 every 2-3 days. I found this to be pure bullshit as my p1 has been on for atleast 3-4 weeks without a reboot. My phone works primo....all my friends always play games on my phone thus they use it even more then i do : )
Peter could you answere my question please?
Im new to the UIQ software. If UIQ 4 gets released is it compatible with the p1? (Will the p1 be able to use UIQ 4) from my guesses no but just wanted to clear that up. This is my first SE symbian. |

If it's out in July, I'll just have to wait out two months of my Tytn II contract before I can get it, by which time it should have hit the price/availablility sweet spot...
Mind you, it'll have to be amazing to replace the Tytn II It'd better have good Activesync support too...

this thread is completely pointless. no real information and all speculative. Best is to just wait an see what will happen.
We don't even know if the new P series will be a P5i.
cheers |

the actual name doesn't really matter though.
P700 turned out to be P1 but the details discussed here were still largely correct

that's my point. All what is being said here is public knowledge already. Please point out something that is really new? |
