Isnt the k850i the same thickness as a k810I? both are 17mm thick. If your upgrading from a k800i like i am, your actually getting a smaller phone (k800i is 22mm thick). Now, lets not forget its a lot smaller then an N95 lol.
yea but u cant compare to k800 to justify its size/bulge as the k800 isnt its predecceser, the k810 is. i have k810 an k850 and k850 FEELS more chunkier (whether it is or not dont matter, but it certantly feels it). of course if u have a k800, then k850 will feel smaller but thats different.
lol i dunno bout n95, u gotta remember that sometimes phones FEEL different 2 wot they are, sometimes a bigger phone can FEEL smaller depending on design. the N95 is pretty much the same thickness, but its a lot shorter, so it actually feels smaller, even tho its slightly wider (ive had n95 as well). |

I think the problem I have is that I don't really distinguish between the K800 and K810 because they're more or less the same phone. At least the internals are the same.
Its like comparing the T68m and T68i, or the T610 and T630, or W800/W810. More or less the same phone, just some cosmetic differences.
A more reasonable comparison is say, K750 to K800, as there is a difference in specifiations (camera, memory card, 3G etc)
As for button resistance, I believe it's a matter of perception. Larger buttons are easy to press as there is greater surface area. The small buttons on the K850 require more pressure as they will sink into the fingers easier. Not an issue if you play guitar like I do though

Minor point. But the two silver rocker keys look (although they are not) twisted |

yea, but T650i buttons are even smaller but they feel beautiful to press! perfect pressure on them, not too stiff like k850 |

So has anybody been greatly affected by the lack of a play/pause button or you just don't miss it at all? This is the biggest mistake in the phone IMO.

NOt necessarily! HPM-82's would do just fine with this & also so would the following:
HBH-DS200/220/970/980.
Seems SE is making the move over to BT Stereo Headset so far.

those with the green k850i, is the laser flash theme green? Or is it the same as the one shown in peoples blue blue versions here (blue)
not a biggie if it isnt green, though would have blended in better with the green colour scheme of the phone... could have made it like the t650's which have colour matched themes.

I miss having the play/pause button. I use my phone's music player through a tape adapter in the car so I can listen to music and take calls through the speakers, not having the play/pause button means I have to take an extra couple of seconds to get the music going. I haven't found a reasonable shortcut yet but, I'm sure when I get use to it it'll be fine.
I'm taking my K850i back to a Vodafone this morning for a replacement. Thanks you to you guys on here who've expressed concern and suggested solutions to the problems I've had. The biggest and only remaining problem I have concern for is the Media Browser keeps crashing when trying to access photos, otherwise this is a great phone. The pics it takes are great, the design is awesome. Do not underestimate how much better this phone feels and looks in reality compared to in the photos. The screen is huge and has the perception od being a higher resolution than the K800i (I'd compare it to the K810i but I've by-passed that and haven't played with one).
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

Got mine this morning from DHL depot.
Good impressions so far, shame they've removed the standby clock/status, but ah well. Touch screen is nice, got used to it all ready. Media menu is a nice addtion and the screen is lovely. A worthy upgrade to my 800.
I used to try and keep my 800 clean but this phone is going to be a nightmare, such a fingerprint magnet - i've given up trying to keep it nice and clean already. |

"the fact that you can't access the phone status through the volume keys is quite upsetting, maybe they'll include it in the next firmware upgrades"
on my handset one press of the side volume key shows the phone status, god willing.
