I´ve noticed one thing on both the earlier FW and this new one. When playing music in the media player the song is i.e. 3:54 min long. But when the player is minimized the song is one second shorter in the desktop where the song is presented.

Anyone else noticed this?

Cheers

Congratulations Really...

I upgraded my P990 to R9 last thursday (4th). It had the original memory (64K) stick inside it. I did not face any significant problem.

On Tuesday (9th) I got me an original 1GB SAN Disk (since SE had also supplied a San Disk with my phone) card and a 1GB Sony card. No with either of these 2 cards in my phone the phone is not as stable. I have had 2 incomming calls cause my phone to reboot.

Is there a limit on te size of memory card one can use with the P990? The pone worked for 3 days (Friday-Monday) without a problem with the 64K card. the problems surfaed only when I installed the larger memory cards.

Is there any process I have to perfrom on the memory cards (Format)?
When I open the file manager I already see 2 0 Byte files MEMSTICK and MSTK_PRO.

well there are two ways you can format you memory card, one is to plug your fone into your computer with your memory card in it, then right click on the memory card drive in my computer and click format, or you can do it in file manager directly from your fone> i dont know if this works with the p990, works with w900 and w810, but im pretty sure there should be a memory stick format option somewhere on your phone.

I don't know if you guys have also faced this, if the mem stick is formatted on the P990 my Toshiba notebook has problems with it in its card slot, however, if the mem stick is formatted using Windows no problems in the phone or the notebook.

Another thing. Since the update to R9 I´ve lost the notification of new messages. There is the ordinary notification sound, but there´s no envelope in the status bar. I have to go in to Messages to see if there is a new message if I missed the notification sound.

Do I miss any configuration or anyting?

Cheers

If it said you had the latest than you can't update to the new fw. Try again on regular basis or check the forum until you see somebody like you tried and succeeded.

I too have a P990i with CDA 162008/64 R3A01

I would like to upgarde the firmware to R9, but SEUS says I have the latest firmware. What I find to be particularly bad is that the phone is unbranded and unlocked, bought from the UK SonyEricsson store, so I would have expected the new firmware to be available by now. I thought I was buying a 'generic phone', but seemingly not!

Has anyone bought an unbranded phone from the UK SonyEricsson store and managed to update to R9?

SE have a lot to answer for, given that when I bought the phone I was told by SE that firmware updates would be available for the phone on SEUS just as soon as the next level of firmware is released.

How does one revert back to old firmware? Maybe that will help my Myspace issues on the web app.

I've been using a 4Gb card for about 2 months with no problems at all (other than the usual).

I'm off to Barcelona for 3GSM in Feb - if I don't have R4 by then, I'll definitely be swinging by the SE stand
