If you dont want the shortcut bug, you have to remove the predefined shortcut first, then set your own.
I just found something out. Take your battery out... and you see the S/N and week your battery was made? Try running your fingernail hard against the text and see if it rubs off.
Because when I just opened up the back of my K790i (haven't done that in a while) the S/N is 1/3 gone because of a smudge. |

One thing that i have noticed on my K800i is that it wont match the name to a number for one contact. I dont know why and have triple checked the number and it is fine. There seems to be no reason. I cahnged the number in my phone book to have +44 in front of it, as that is how it comes through from the network, and it did put the name onto a text that I had already received from that person but as soon as I received another text from them it changed all the texts back to just showing the phone number.

Yes, my battery rubs off now..the letters written there are gone because of the friction as I open the back cover very often. No problem. It's just ugly..and not new anymore. Any news from SEUS? I can't wait.. |

@aremaboy
You seem to be having rather a lot of problems - moreso than most with the same firmware as you. Sorry if this sounds obvious, but have you tried a master reset?
Incidentally, I am rather intrigued by your name. Is Arema is short for Arek Malang (Teenagers from Malang) or is it a reference to your local football team (Arema Malang) ... or something else ?
Ooh ... I think I have got it! AREMA SINGO EDAN stands for AREMA THE MAD LION, which is something to do with your football club

Yes, AREMABOY stands for Arek Malang meaning a teenager from Malang. Our town owns the best Indonesian soccer team also called Arema..my god, how do you know it? Are you a fan of Arema too, Mike? I'm proud to be an Aremania..a fan of Arema.. |

I just wondered where abouts you came from, as Indonesia is not somewhere I have been and I didn't recognise 'Jawa Timur' (I thought it might mean somewhere in Timor, but it just means East Java). I looked it up on MS MapPoint (to find where it was) and then decided to look it up in Wikipedia. As I was on a roll I thought I would try to work out why you call yourself Aremaboy
Sounds like a nice place you live in!

Malang is really a cool place to visit..just spend several weeks here during holidays. It's a small town anyway..Yes, Jawa Timur means East Java, it's about 800 km far from Jakarta, the capital city. But, it's just several hours flying to Bali island. Arema, right?
Anyway, my K800i isn't that buggy anymore. It's been a day now and NO white crashes at all! Not even once. What have I done? |

Homescreen does not respond correctly, K800i, Orange UK.
When SMS message arrives homescreen shows "New Events (1)" selected. Pressing the joystick in does NOT open the message as it should. Moving the selection down one (to "Running Apps") then BACK to "New Events (1)" and pressing the joystick in DOES open the message. |
| It does work if you leave it a few seconds. But how annoying tho. |

Not on my phone. This is a definite bug.

I had the first update through Wotanserver,R1CF001,nothing has changed noticable. My first issue and only one currently is the low sounds(for ringtones etc.) from the loudspeaker and earpiece also, they really need a tweak up(I've made equalizer settings too-all full-but still not what it should sound like).
I think this update(if it comes unchanged to SEUS)doesnt really change anything, maybe just the whitescreen thing or so.I'm getting really anxious about improvements to come soon otherwise I'm gonna sell it.

Mine is R1CB001 CHINA APAC and I still can't figure out what I have done so far so that I NEVER experience intermittant white screen at all for the past two days..Not even a single crash..I'm just lucky then..Do you think the F/W stability reaches its max point after days of usage? Hm, weird. My K800i even works so smooth in typing, displaying pictures, and more..Thanks God.. |

I think some people are going a bit overboard saying this phone has loads of bugs and when are they going to get fixed. People are being far too anal, at the end of the day for everyday use this phone is great and I haven't had any problems with the day to day stuff I use it for. I.e Calling, texting, taking the odd pic and listening to music.
Chill out and just enjoy using the phone, if not return it and get a different phone

Holy Christ, Yet another buggy production from SE.
Well as a software developer I know that a software will have a bug one way or the other.
But some bugs in these fone are just not acceptable. I mean even functionality that is working correctly on other models fails on new models.
Things like shortcuts and menu key pad number mapping have been working fine on SE fones so having bugs on things like those is just out of question. |

The best post of this entire thread. Simply the best, and on the mark. My goodness it is a friggin phone. If you are not happy then take it back but the day to day whining by a certain few is just downright childish. SE will release an update that fix most bugs and probably introduce one or two. Get over it and try putting the phone down for a while and get some fresh air. Maybe talk to a girl or two. For sure explore life without the phone.

I think the media player volume needs improving (loudening) track id needs to be sent to the HBH-ds970 (as in the M600) and overall speed needs improving along with the unsensored button presses sometimes.
