I never thought to consider which 'side of the fence' the victims were from. A life is a life.

No, it's actually just a cartoon. Period. The fact most people find it offensive doesn't make it any less a cartoon.
But threats are real, whether there is an intention to carry them out or not.

What about it? He has a right to free speech (just as you have a right to demonstrate); his motivation is irrelevant.

So you think the Muslim world are idiots for protesting against "just" a cartoon? |

Was any part of my "as you have a right to demonstrate" in my previous post unclear?
You have a RIGHT to protest.
The cartoonist has a RIGHT to draw cartoons.
My view of either isn't relevant.

I think all avenues of protest by Muslims have been exhausted bar killing a couple of Danes and launching an attack on Danish soil.
Funny thing happened yesterday. I was watching a protest against the Muhammad cartoons in Cape Town where 20 000 Muslims pitched up and one of the main speakers was ordering that the Danes apologise- they had done so weeks before.

Not at the moment, but I'm sure someone will post something to comment on presently.

@batesie: We're still discussing it even though it's somewhat stale.

i dont think there idots for protesting against the cartoon, i think the idots are the ones who burn building down and are calling for the death of danish people, also i think people who use terms like play with fire your gonna get burnt are idiots.
i wonder how these people who are burning building would feel if some far right people tried to burn the mosque down they were in performing salat as they took offence and felt insulted by the actions of burning buildings and calling for danish people to be killed? |

Slattery I think the countries where the protests got out of hand was the more politically instable countries...
I think there they seem to be under a government that they not favourable of and their anger came out with more of just the cartoons in mind...
