Oh joy, ManUre have just been knocked out of the FA Cup 5th round by Liverpoo.

One of the UK esato members is selling W800's for £214.95. (approx R2410) .
Dang, this phone has held its value extremely well in the UK, compared to so many other manufacturers' models.
Generally, it seems that Moto's depreciate far, far quicker here, compared to SE and Nokia.

@da wanqsta: That W800i is waaaaaay too expensive but I guess that's the price you pay for quality.

I've been viewing the pics of taken by the P900/910 on a small screen and once I viewed them on my workstation it became evident how shitty they looked.

To the other extreme, the UK's Carphone Warehouse are now doing the same £50 airtime + free PAYG phone as the Nokia 1100 deal with the ultra-basic,colour screen Motorola C139.

Orange shop outlets are now selling the K750i for £149 (approx R1670) when you trade in your old brick.

By the way, did the Aussie cricket squad receive a nice, warm SA welcome when they landed?

@da wanqsta: Yep, the Aussies landed in SA yesterday. They're upset because Mark Boucher called on local supporters to give the convicts a hard time when they play here.

That Orange deal looks mad nice but then again I guess you have to factor in that the phone is branded and also network locked.

@All, just read that we should get mobile number portability around June as soon as the three cellphone networks sort out managing the database of cellphone numbers.

this is (in my opinion) because of the cellular revolution we now know as MXIT. think abt it. they r pumpin 400 000 + users now. so Vodacom and MTN's bandwith is been seriously pushed to its limits. plus with 3g slowly but surely growing in the country more n more consumers are using 3g cellular phone or connect cards for internet connection. its kinda amazing once u think abt it hey.

@wazarmoto: Welcome to the thread. Personally I don't like Mxit but have to admit that a lot of people are using it and you're probably right when saying that the service has put a strain on networks' ability to deal with the demand for bandwidth.

I doubt mxit users affect the GPRS usage or affect the speeds... its the true wap and 3G users that affect it...

A colleague, interested in getting the P910i on contract, got told by Vodacom that the phone has been discontinued.

Hopefully this is a sign that we might be getting the P990(I'm not excited about it) soon after it's European release.

I am absolutely unexcited about the P990 either. And then, there's the W950 as well to complicate matters for those interested in this class of SE phones.

@AYA: Not that I hate the P990, it's just that the design doesn't do it for me and the fact that they've made the screen slightly smaller...it looks to me if things have been placed ontop of one another.

Mxit is really immensely popular. I've been using it every now and then to communicate with a few buddies abroad, also with one or two South Africans who haven't discovered wapmail yet.

We sort of seem to be in the same boat No; I don't hate it either. It just isn't particularly inspiring to me.

Like all the naysayers, I'll probably love it once I have it in my grubby paws.

@AYA: This one is especially for you, this is the apartment of the erstwhile governor of Bayelsa State which has been attached by local prosecutors.
