tracy and matt said that x1 128MB RAM of 384MB RAM is for 3D chip...how did they know about that ? i think x1 RAM is DDr SDRAM not VRAM...i means if x1 ram is 384MB DDR SDRAM so it doesnt mean it is VRAM...can you explain it ?
I was looking at the X1 blog this morning to see if have stepped up to the plate and come clean on the RAM situation and they STILL haven't!
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

To the X1 owners can you use the photo LED as a torch?
Cheers
Yes.. if u use it from the camera app. when switched on its on for a good while. No need of holding down a button like on P1i.
Oh? so there's no option like on the K750i where you can just use the light as a flashlight?
Bummers but it's still groovy though.
Just two more weeks!!! *twitches eyes*
err...you donīt need to hold any button at all on the P1...just install the torch app from the G900, and its done...no need to use the camera app at all

My girlfriend got my P1 now.. where can I find the torch-app? Did a google-search but got to many hits. Anyone have a link? Or more info on to what to look for.

Another "Need to have"...
I want to be able to use my phone as a modem.. either via bluetooth or, if possible via Wifi..
That is, charing the 3g-connection with my laptop (macbook pro, and in second hand a PC with win XP pro. But there I guess I can use whatever software came with the phone?).
Suggestions?

Hi all,
Been awhile since I've been on here, so hi again all. In fact been a while since SE have come up with something great... til now . This is my next phone, and I'll already have my upgrade ordered with Vodafone (virtually free for my tariff ) out for those who don't know around 25th on Vodafone.
Right now to explain how the memory works....

@joel80, you can do it as standard using bluetooth or cable connection or (and I prefer this) you can buy wm wifi router as that does a good job.
I've connected my iphone and pc through wifi to my WM 3g connection with great results and will continue to do so on the X1

Smapes Opinion of the X1:
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is a very specific, yet an efficient PDA. It would make a great choice for those looking for a WM PDA sporting just as much computing power and versatility as fashionable looks, equipped with a QWERTY keyboard (yet not the handiest around). All in all, the product appears to be a balanced solution, on of the best in its class. Final conclusions will be drawn upon testing a next-to-final sample later in autumn. The currently available sample makes a great Christmas gift provided that SE fixes the spotted weaknesses on time, without pushing the release date into the next year.
+ Stylish design, original form factor
+ High quality of materials and assembly
+ Large high-definition screen
+ Long battery life
+ 3.5 mm audio jack
+ XPERIA panels firmware launcher
+ Powerful CPU, 256 Mb of RAM
+ Wi-Fi and GPS, as well as an FM tuner
- High price
- Challengeable keyboard ergonomics
- Non-canon screen resolution
- No TV-out
- No hardware 3D acceleration

obviously i might be wrong. in fact i'd be supprised if all the uk operators didn't end up taking it sooner or later. but i think o2 and voda are the only ones to officially confirm...
plus, alot can happen in the 4months since that news story was written. [ This Message was edited by: mobman on 2008-10-14 16:20 ]
I went into an Orange shop a few days ago and was told that Orange will be doing the X1. |

That is an old article. The writer even didn't know the release date at that time. |

Yes I know. It's been posted here more than 10 times, but I haven't seen this info about acceleration before.
