Myself and my brother share a personal account (he was too young for a contract 18 months ago). So my deal should be a deal that any personal reasonably high usage consumer can get. We spend roughly £90 each a month.

Last week a vodafone rep did come and show my dad a p990 and a cool side slidey microsoft phone. I had a quick play on them and managed to make the p990 crash but I'd gotten pretty good at it before I gave up my p910. So hopefully when vodafone, orange and o2 release it (it'd be my dream come true if t-mobile released it, web and walk ftw) it'll have another firmware upgrade or some fix to make it more stable.

Don't suppose anyone knows if t-mobile will release the p990?

I use web'n'walk on my SIM free P990 & M600 - it really is the ideal package. Also with T-mobile at Starbucks the wifi connection speed is super (I have 12 months free T-mobile hotspot package as well )

Spoke to T-mobile a number of times about the P990 but they have no firm info unlike Voda, Orange & O2. Also remember that demand for the P990 will be very high (someone here claimed SE have 1 million on pre-order already) so T-mobile may not even be able to get stocks for a month or so.

Not sure about the P990i just yet, as mentioned there is no confirmed information.

I heard that T-Mob have dropped the M600i in favour of pushing the E61 from Nokia (although having said that, I think even THAT handset has been taken off because of some issues with it!).

Hi all,
my understanding of why T-Mobile appear to be very slow releasing new models into their portfolio is that they are no longer concerned about putting lots of branding on their phones as they realise this causes them problems and their customers don't like it. But now are much stricter about the quality they expect from the units they add and therefore would rather wait until units are at least reasonably stable and avoid all the problems associated with that. As lets face it not everyone knows what they are doing with these units and would tie up their data support staff with the problems.

Good news to all SE fans from saudi arabia,i just arrived from the market and they told me they will have the phone by next week. I saw one sample phone from them but the stocks are coming next week. I hope the phones are already installed with new firmware or fixed the RAM. They told me the price will start at SR 2,500 cheaper than the p910i when it arrived here first.

Highly unlikely the ram issue will be fixed, well not hardware wise as that would be a very stupid thing SE could do. Bring out a p990i with more ram, leaves the rest of us sort of in limbo.
As for the new firmware, you might get lucky but that doesnt solve the ram issue...P990i just needs better memory management thats all.

I agree with storm that the ram question will still be a big issue with the phone. Even with better memory management it's still a point of contention.
We'll all stamp our feet and clench our fists when the next generation is released (I wouldn't be suprised if it was as soon as 9-12 months from now).
But you know what? we'll all prolly go out and get one.
I think SE have proper pegged onto this so we can expect to be wearing our trousers around our ankles untill an alternative is released.

I found out the side slidey phone i was shown is referred to as the tyntyn.
I don't like the styling of it, though the stylus is kinda funny and cool.
But I'm after a phone-pda which I'm pretty sure most ppl tend to skew towards but I make no basis for that assumption.

So i went to t-mobile store and talked to their customer services. And they say that they have no idea about the p990. So I'm feeling quite glum and call up vodafone to pay my current bill and I'm told that in a couple weeks time they're gonna have tarrifs that are very comparable to the web and walk from t-mobile. Still glum because nothing is sure, but I got to have a nice play on my cousins p990 which he bought for crazy money (i'm guessing less than £700 because that's how much he's trying to sell it to me for). SE do have a way with styling and it does seem a very solidly built phone.

be unlike them to do that, wouldnt it.. like a couple of weeks after i finally downed my p800 for a p900.. they released the p910.

im starting to wonder about sticking with my 910i for a while as i still think it looks better than the 990, flip off..

i bet it's quicker than 9-12months tho

I've read somewhere that the current batches of P990's come with the BST-33 battery, while newer batches will come with the BST-34 (higher amperage). Can anyone comfirm this?

we've had endless discussion about this in this thread and others

the summary is that SE announced the P990 to have the BST-34 but almost everyone has received a BST-33 except a couple of members who claim to have received a BST-34. Also a couple of members have said that BST-34 is becoming available as an accessory in Sweden so perhaps SE will live up to their original claim that P990 will come with the larger capacity battery

time will tell...

Bit of a stupid question but the WiFi on the P990i does that mean i can go into a pub/bar which offers free WiFi and connect to the internet for free?

Also connect to my wireless internet connection at home for free and use MSN (if there is one for P990)

Thanks
