It's a shame there are so many problems with this handset, all of which seem to be about build quality. I'm not surprised by now however. really need an overhaul if this is the best they can do. They charge £350 for a phone with a slider that wobbles, rocks, a loose lens cover, scratched keys....
and add another: the paint on my top keys is coming off at the sides. Already!
Along with this stupid YouTube issue and dissapointing picture quality, this phone is getting on my nerves. Thinking seriously of selling it and buying an i8510, Renoir or Pixon. Falling out of love with 's pants build quality very quickly here.
I think you might be really unlucky marty... or maybe I'm lucky...
I've had mine for a month now and haven't noticed any hardware problems at all. Top notch build quality I say!
Only little problem I've had is that I've still not managed streaming to work over WiFi. Since noone else seems to have such an issue, I blame my own incompetence. |

And no moveable slider? Mine is moveable up and down, and left and right. Very strange, cause the phone itself is nearly perfect.
Here an example of my slider:

Well I can move the top part up and down... sliding.
Seriously tough... I can move mine a tiny bit to the left and right... maybe 1 mm to the side, but not more than that. I really don't notice any such little movement during ordinary use. Moving/tilting up and down? It won't let me do that the slightest. |

That looks really bad, SirRobin. Considered repairing it? Mine is "only" wobbly left-right, which I find bad enough.
Here's how I feel about returning my phone: I won't be able to change it for a new unit since I've had mine some four weeks. If I choose to have it sent for repair, I'll lose all control over my as good as brand new phone. They may repair it, but they may also decide to ditch it and give me a swap phone instead, assembled from parts of different units handed in for repair. That's what happened to my K800 with joystick problems. Never saw it again, got a swap phone in return, and guess what: not fully functional. Bluetooth didn't work.

Oh, really bad. Maybe a local Service Center can fix this? What do you think about that? I´m very unhappy thinking about sending my phone to the service, my k850i went there for 5 weeks!

As I said I would also only very reluctantly send in my new phone, but your phone does not look good and I think for me, having that problem I would contact a service center. |

Anyone had this problem. The button under the answer button (recent events-button) stopped working for me after the phone had been untouched in standby mode for several hours. I restarted my phone and then it worked again. Not nice!

I've noticed this happening today, glad its software and not hardware related don't really fancy having to swap it now its all setup.
On a side note is there anything expendable thats in Phone Memory that can be deleted?
My phone seems to be running very slowly and only 1.2 mb free memory on the phone, texts, photo email and apps are saved on the memory card.
Under "Other" in the memory manager it shows 6 files sized anything up to 23mb each called 62_21, 62_41 and so on, what are they and is it ok to delete them?

@harry20larry which week of production it's your C905?
I got mine from a guy who upgraded to the c905 in week 2, however, the significant difference between mine and everybody else's is that it is the gold colour.
As you can see from these pics, I am definately not having the same problems as everyone esle:

I called sony ericsson technical support yesterday about my C905 not being able to play videos through youtube. The lady i spoke to tried one of the C905's they had and were able to play videos through youtube on 02 fine. So is it just 02 customers that are lucky enough to access youtube? |

I do know that O2 are very thorough when they check through SE's firmwares and will fix any lack of functionality, this is sometimes why O2 are late releasing their firmwares. |
