What more can we expect from Sony on Android 4.4 Kitkat update:
- immersive mode on Movies and Reader app, as well as camera app
- Cloud printing
- Audio tunneling, which should Qualcomm support on their side. This will pave way for longer Walkman use while screen is off
- Better RAM management
- New notification drop down
- Full screen Walkman album art, or maybe they can implement the visualization on lockscreen
- new Xperia Camera Apps and Xperia Themes. Better they release Theme SDK or Theme Creator so everyone will be happy!
- (wishing for) full manual controls on camera, shutter and aperture priority
- Emoji support on Xperia Keyboard, split and dock keyboard should also be added
- Better Bronze processing, or implement RAW support, or if not, Jpeg compression should have a choice on end-user.

Is that a wishlist or from a leaked? I know most of these are standard from kitkat, but camera RAW support hasn't been implemented for android. |

Can't believe for the ultimate One Sony device!
Hoping it will be all working fine on Z1 after upgrade. 4K video and timeshift video is a must! Lol

Dam those are certainly some impressive features, let's hope most of those make it to the Z1

I hope all the software based ones do, like 4K, 120fps, double tap, dialer and answering machine and this What's New app.
If all of these make it to the Z1 and improved algorithm for the image processing, I will be more than happy. |

camera algorithm should, 4K will probably be hacked and ported over anyway. |

other than the camera features.. i don't see what the big deal is? the UI stuff is eh.. whatever.. you can do a lot of that by changing launchers and stuff now and getting creative with 3rd party customization apps.
the smart backlight and the smart answering = gimmicks! when samsung does it, people say it's crap but when sony does it, suddenly it's great? no thanks. I'd prefer they left it out.
double tap to wake the screen seems like it would be useful, since the power button can be annoying to press at times.
not convinced on the stereo speakers "rumor" considering they're speculating that because there are two speakers means there's gonna be stereo sound? If so, all phones would have stereo sound since they all have an earpiece speaker and an regular speaker for ringtones and such. i'll believe it when i see it.
hope the camera apps get ported to the Z1. I don't see why they shouldn't considering Z1 has the hardware to support them. i don't see the point of the answering machine either? I use google voice for my vmail, so maybe that's why I don't think it's a great feature.
Anyway, SIRIUS sounds good, I hope a lot of the camera stuff comes to the Z1, but still a fail on the 16gb internal rom considering you can't move apps to SD anymore. A few big games and you're screwed (which is where I am now). I'll be keeping my Z1 for awhile yet..

I may have to agree with the smart backlight, but the smart answering seems plausible. It's quite annoying how I have to touch a button or the screen just to accept/deny/silence a call.
Double tapping of the screen to wake the phone is absolutely necessary! As I mention before, my power button is starting to fail, so this would help alleviate my problem, and I'm having such a hard time thinking if I should send my phone in for warranty as I would be Z1'less for a long time....
Can't agree more with the 16GB internal ROM! Wish Sony would at least provide us with an option of 16GB/32GB/64GB. Heck, I would even take a 128GB even if it would cost $1000. I use my phone like a computer, rarely get on my computer now a days because my Z1 takes care of almost everything I need in terms of casual usage.
What games are you playing on the Z1? |

All of those are very useful, I can see myself using them right away. |

Well all of those features sound great and I would provably make use of most of them but the one that I would use the most is the answer machine but I can see that being left out of any UK firmware because the networks want us to pay for their voicemail services
