@kothor

as far as I know the R520m TEMS phones never has the ordinary firmware in them, they are either flashed with TEMS firmware at factory, or at special companies.. know there is a company in the northern part pf Sweden which can repair/flash them, they are not repaired under normal warranty at service points

@bobafett

nope, have never seen one

Hi guys!

Read your query on the R520m. I was wondering has any one of you guys already seen an R520LX? What makes it different from the R520m?

As for my R520, I havent had if reflashed as boba suggessted but I actually paired my copper with the silver keypads & it REALLY ROCKS!!!

It blends in smoothly with the silver center of the copper casing & to me seems to look like an R520m with an R380e look due to the silver keypads!

@bleurdeur

R520LX is a US version of R520m, AT&T has sold R520LX on the US market...

Time to say thx again for all of u, who post, support and help in the /// forum. We have 5000 posts here! A great and amazing result, according the master launched the last fone years ago... Now, who dares to say, that the time of /// is over? No other brand survived after ending the production for so long time! I can ( and dare ) to promise u, that this forum will write mobile history in the next future, so i ask everybody here, to keep on posting and hopefully the Eriteam will join more active members soon. I ll do my best to link this forum to the place where it really belongs to, at my negotiations the forum is my "visitcard". I dare to say, that the /// turned to one of the most informative and succesful thread on esato, a minority keeps here the magic alive and pls never forget, that @laffen created esato cos of ///, so on some way we have a kind of responsibility when we continue here the original mission of it. Hail Sverige, Hail ERICCSON! Thx for @all of u, regards, Boba

@bleurdeur

Yes, might be smaller differences in firmware, bust mostly it's identical with R520m.

The main problem is that there is no tems fw aviable to flash R520? Can cruiser read TEMS fw;)?

You could read out FW with cruiser but you would only be able to make a clone. So You won't be able to change the IMEI and therefor there would be some more handsets with the same IMEI. Problem on cloning the handset is that you can't recalculate the radio-settings and this might ause a trouble in the handset.
After recalculating radio-settings or changing IMEI the TEMS function will be switched of and you can only switch it on again, by making a change to the fw. BUT you don'T know, where to change a 0 to a 1.

No, killspam has a huge colletion but knows nearly nothing about the internal structure of the handsets and doesn't want to know about it.

BTW there is one TEMS edth on eBay for "only" 1500$.

Not only one, there also a T68 TEMS at a price of 2.500. BUT have you read the description well?
Tems R520M package is full cloned system
It's not a legal TEMS. It'S a cloned one.
If it's possible to get this price for a cloned TEMS, I would be a rich man the next weeks.
But again: There's still the risc of bad radio-setting and the cloned IMEI. And before there'l be some questions: No I won't sell any of my TEMS-clons.

Sounds as if your SP has no R/D dongle for EMMA2.
Anyway it IS possible for a SP to make this job, but he needs the right hardware from /// and there are only very few SP who got this hardware.

@Tiger Many people here live with faulty radio-settings, that's ok for post-USSR countries:-D. But how do you know that this is cloned one? Maybe i've lost something when reading info about it? It would be good if i wouldnt pay for my calls with TEMS edth;-)...

3 diff chargers for almost the same models? Thats weird. Mc128 should work with psion charger too.

Bobba, MC218 has a regular small electronics DC input, that can be found in any Universal AC/DC converter. In fact, I'm using my old AC/DC converter from my SupraExpress Modem (6VDC).

But the MC218 is a Psion, and not an ///.
